The screaming directed at Israel for its determination to define itself as a Jewish nation comes from all the usual places, the Arabs and their sycophants.

The Elder is absolutely correct in his assessment on the Arabs’ duplicitous, and disingenuous propaganda, chastizing Jews for wanting to describe their state in their manner, while the Arabs, and to a lesser extent nowadays in post-Christian Europe, have no problem in defining who they themselves are, and take great pride in it. It’s just the Jews who aren’t able to define themselves, that would be racist.

NOTE: It’s traditional anti-Semitism, everyone else in the world are free to exert their national aspirations and define their movements and/or states, except of course the Jews. This is how the Jew has been treated as a minority socially, ethnically, religiously, politically and financially for thousands of years.

Hypocrisy, thy name is Arab: The “Jewish State ” kerfuffle

Arabs have been unanimous in rejecting the idea of Israel being a “Jewish state.” Their reasons are that, by definition, a Jewish state would be discriminatory against Arabs and Muslims.

If you define “Jewish” in purely religious terms, that would mean that any state that defines itself as “Islamic” is, by definition, equally guilty of this discrimination. If you define “Jewish” in ethnic or national terms, then any state that defines itself as “Arab” would be equally guilty of the racism that Israel is being accused of.

Time to check out the official hypocrisy of Israel’s critics, and note the deafening silence towards this supposed Arab and Islamic racism – by their definition.

Jordan’s constitution:

Article 1
The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is an independent sovereign Arab State. It is indivisible and inalienable and no part of it may be ceded. The people of Jordan form a part of the Arab Nation, and its system of government is parliamentary with a hereditary monarchy.
Article 2

Islam is the religion of the State and Arabic is its official language.

As Israel’s security establishment warns of more attacks amid a recent spike of Arab terrorism, and soldiers are faced with more and more legal red tape in combating the threat, the nationalist group SOS Israel has come up with their own way to ensure the security of Israelis.

The group, which also goes by the name The National Headquarters for Saving the Nation and the Land, and is headed by Rabbi Shalom Dov Wolpo of Chabad, held an emergency meeting and decided to grant a monetary award to all citizens and security workers who kill terrorists trying to attack Jews.

“Every citizen in Israel must be ready at every moment to fulfill the divine and humane order, to completely eliminate the terrorist who comes to kill and harm Jews,” released the group in a statement.

Referring to Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas by his kunya name, the statement continued “the terrorists, and at their head the terrorist and Holocaust denier Abu Mazen, must know that harming Jews does not pay, and whoever tries to do so will be returned home in a body bag.”

In addition to the monetary award, those taking out terrorists as they attack will be given a certificate of honor as a “Hero of Israel” from the organization, which is supported by prominent religious Zionist and haredi figures in its efforts to oppose concessions on the land of Israel.

The danger of the Left’s false narrative unchecked.

The Israelis being within their traditional homeland of Judea and Samaria is entirely legal under signed agreements initiated during San Remo Conference then codified at the  League of Nations, where Jews were given the exclusive right for close settling of the land for an eventual state of their own. All of  this was automatically legalized by default when the UN superseded the LON.

Shock and surprise for many to learn that Israel has plenty of attorneys well versed in international law who can articulate Israel’s claim to Judea and Samaria for Jewish settlement. The issue stands as is, due to political expediency by the international community who want to appease the Arabs with yet another Palestinian state, the first one being in Jordan.

The politicians who promote this kind of legislation are either ignoramuses of existing international law favoring Jewish settlement, or have darker designs against the Jewish people of Israel.

Obama’s got Israel’s back: US approves of European labeling of ‘settlement products’?

‘US approves of EU labeling W. Bank products’

Dutch envoy to Israel says US hasn’t discouraged initiative to place consumer labels on settlement products.

The US has not pressed EU countries to drop any plans they might have to facilitate the placement of consumer labels on West Bank settlement products, according to the Netherlands’ Ambassador to Israel Caspar Veldkamp.

He spoke with reporters at his Herzliya home on Wednesday about Israel’s economic and diplomatic relationship with the Netherlands; but a portion of the conversation dealt with his country’s vocal support for the labeling of West Bank settlement products.

The Israelis have a very good legal backing for the lands east of the Jordan river, in a fair court of unbiased judges and juries, it would be a slam dunk.

Fitzgerald: Judea, Samaria, and “Occupied Lands”

Lebanon’s Daily Star carries an article today with the headline: “Jordan’s king to visit Occupied Territories, Israel.”

The word “occupied” needs to be carefully examined. It is ordinarily used when the country deemed to be the occupier has no claim to the land it occupies, and is only there temporarily, following a conflict, with no intention or right to remain.

Thus “Occupied Paris” or “Occupied France.” Thus “Occupied Germany” or “Occupied Japan” after the war. But to use the word “occupied lands” for lands which are part of the Mandate for Palestine is another matter. These lands were part of the two Ottoman vilayets that were deliberately set aside by the League of Nations, after the breakup of the Ottoman Empire, for the establishment of the Jewish National Home. This was done on the perfectly reasonable and indeed irreproachable theory that like the Arabs (who were promised one Arab State), the Kurds (who ultimately never got any state), and the Armenians (ditto, except for a Soviet republic, only recently made independent), the Jews could be given a state of their own. The moral, legal, and historic claim of the Jews — some of whom had left the Middle East after the Jihad-conquest by the Arabs in the 7th century, and some of whom had remained to live as dhimmis in Iraq, Syria, Judea itself, Yemen, and North Africa — would be seen by fair-minded person who had bothered to investigate the matter as an overwhelming claim.

Indeed, when the British, who had made solemn commitments under their power as mandatory authority, simply closed off all of Eastern Palestine (which went to form present-day Jordan) in 1921, the Mandates Commission of the League of Nations was horrified. Arab propagandists –Rami Khouri, Rashid Khalidi, Saeb Erekat, and so on — like to refer rather quickly, and self-assuredly, to “occupied Arab lands” (or variants on the phrase) knowing that their interviewer or interlocutor will never stop to question them, about the long history of the word “Palestine” (and what it was defined as in Western Christendom) and the brief history of the phrase “Palestinian people,” about the real understandings, and weighings of claims, and equities, that lay behind the League of Nations’ decision to create, as it created other mandates in the Middle East and elsewhere, the Mandate for Palestine. Nor is much attention given by the BBC, or “The Guardian,” or RF1 or “Le Monde,” or NPR or any number of newspaper reporters, to another matter: the precise data on demography and land ownership (cadastral records) in what the Western world, but never the Islamic one until the last century, always referred to as “Palestine” or the Holy Land.

Mahmoud Abbas: Still No Recognizing Israel as Jewish State……..

Not that there was any doubt from the beginning

Mahmoud Abbas:

A Jewish state, what is that supposed to mean?,
You can call yourselves as you like but I don’t accept it and I say so publicly.”

For those of us who know better, the Palestinian leadership, whether it be in Ramallah or in Hamastan (Gaza), do not, and will not recognize the Jewish character of the Jewish state of Israel, and more than many of the Muslims and Leftists of Europe will recognize the Judeo-Christian character of a Judeo-Christian Europe.

That is why both mainstream Leftism and Islam make such great bed partners, both loathe the same enemy, and both are willing to subvert the European continent in any way possible. Here’s an excerpt from a recent essay by the anti-Islamization commentator, Fjordman:

The most dangerous people by far are those running the European Union, who are busy dismantling European civilization and enlarging the borders of the EU to include the Middle East and North Africa, thus flooding their own countries with tens of millions of Muslims and other hostile aliens without consulting the native population.

This makes the EU the largest criminal entity on the planet, preoccupied with destroying an entire continent, dismantling the greatest civilization that has ever existed and replacing the native population with others. I have described this in my book Defeating Eurabia , which is available online.

Next to the EU, the most dangerous people are the Leftists all over the Western world who are waging a Jihad to destroy their own civilization and have teamed up with Muslims to achieve this goal. Unlike neo-Nazis, these people are not only far more numerous but socially accepted and disproportionately represented in the media and the education system, where they systematically silence “racist” dissenters by destroying their livelihoods and reputations.

They use an imaginary “far-Right” threat to crush people they don’t like. According to Dr Aidan Rankin, “anti-Fascism” is the new Fascism. The so-called anti-racists and Multiculturalists are aggressors with totalitarian leanings; the people they unfairly attack are victims of a failed social experiment and one of the greatest betrayals in history. The Tundra Tabloids kids not, the current strategy for the Islamization of Europe is predicated upon the internalization of the Arab narrative to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Creating a distinct break from Christian Europe’s Judaic roots, is part of the Islamizing project. It’s another reason why there was a major push, after the return of Yasser Arafat to the Disputed Territories, to rename dhimmi Christian Arab leaders to head the local branches of those Christian churches in both Israel and in the Palestinian controlled areas, and why Christian replacement theology is making a big comeback in those Arab run dioceses. Mideast: Abbas refuses to recognise Israel as Jewish state

Ramallah, 27 April (AKI) – Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas on Monday dismissed calls by Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu to recognise Israel as a Jewish state. He also said a halt to Israel’s continuing expansion of illegal Jewish settlements inside the West Bank was a prerequisite for resuming peace talks.

“A Jewish state, what is that supposed to mean?,” said Abbas, quoted by Israeli media. “You can call yourselves as you like, but I don’t accept it and I say so publicly.”

He also said it was not his job to define or name the Israeli state.

“Name yourself, it’s not my business. Name yourself the Hebrew Socialist Republic. All I know is that there is the state of Israel, in the borders of 1967, not one centimetre more, not one centimetre less. Anything else, I do not accept.”

Many observers believe the so called ‘green line’ – the pre-1967 Six-Day War ceasefire line between Israel and Jordan – should be the basis for an international border between Israel and the West Bank in the creation of a future Palestinian state.

Israeli daily Haaretz said last week that Netanyahu wanted to impose the precondition of recognition of Israel as a Jewish state in order to resume peace negotiations.

However, it is believed such recognition would block the Palestinians demand for the “right of return” of millions of refugees who fled or were expelled by Jewish forces, during the establishment of Israel in 1948 and subsequent wars. The refugees are now scattered throughout the Middle East.
