Hitler had an affinity for Islam, deeming christianity as too effeminate.

Was Netanyahu Right That Islam Changed Nazism and Not Vice-Versa?

Islamic Jew-hatred came before Nazism and Israel: meet “Omar Amin” von Leers.

During a recent speech, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appropriately decried the “apologetics” which have minimized the role played by ex-Mufti of Jerusalem Hajj Amin el-Husseini (1895-1974) — founder of the modern Palestinian Muslim movement — in fomenting genocidal Islamic Jew-hatred. Netanyahu made these simple, irrefragable points, demonstrating how from the 1920s through (in particular) the World War II era:

… the father of the Palestinians at that time, with no [Jewish] state and no so-called “occupation,” no territories and no settlements, already sought, through systematic incitement, to annihilate the Jews. Regrettably, Hajj Amin el-Husseini is still a venerated figure in Palestinian society, he appears in study books and is exalted as the father of the nation, and this incitement that began then, incitement to kill Jews, continues.

As I noted in what was the first full English translation and detailed analysis (here, here) of Hajj Amin el-Husseini’s 1937 fatwa on the Jews — which re-affirms canonical Islam’s Jew-hating motifs used to foment murderous violence against them by Muhammad himself, since the advent of Islam, till now — this seminal proclamation of incitement by the “Godfather” of the Palestinian Muslim movement was pure Islamic dogma devoid of any themes from the writings of Nazi racial theorists, epitomized by Johan (aka, Johann, Johannes) von Leers. (See Foreword by Julian Huxley,History on a Racial Basis, an abridged translation ofGeschichte auf Rassicher Grundlage, London, 1936.)

Leers is a fascinating case study. By any objective standard, his career trajectory — as a favored contributor in Goebbels’s propaganda ministry, to his eventual adoption of Islam (as Omar Amin von Leers) while working as an anti-Western and anti-Semitic/anti-Zionist propagandist under Nasser’s regime from the mid-1950s until his death in 1965 — represents the “Islamification of Nazism,” rather than a “Nazification of Islam.” (The discussion which follows is drawn from, and referenced in, my The Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism, pp. 168-169, 204-205, 619-625; and Sharia Versus Freedom, Amherst, N.Y., 2012,  pp. 252-259, 610-614.)

None of the important data summarized below have been described by Jeffrey Herf, an avatar of the “Nazification of Islam” hypothesis. In his The Jewish Enemy — Nazi Propaganda during World War II and the Holocaust, Cambridge, 2006, pp. 180–81, Herf included a very limited English translation extract of von Leers’ conclusions from the 1942 essay “Judentum und Islam als Gegensatze” (in Die Judenfrage in Politik, Recht, and Wirtschaft 6, no. 24, December 24, 1942): 275–78), whose fully annotated  translation (as “Judaism and Islam as Opposites”) I provided in The Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism (pp. 619-625). Herf even failed to mention von Leers’ subsequent conversion to Islam, and was also oblivious to the Nazi author’s thorough grounding in, and accurate representation of, the pious Muslim sources (i.e., Koran, hadith, and sira). This negationist approach of German-fluent “Nazification of Islam” historians such as Herf compounds their failure to deal with the quintessential, canonical Islamic motifs of el-Husseini’s 1937 Islamic fatwa—available in German since 1938—in an informed, intellectually honest manner.

Upon his arrival in Egypt in 1956, it was Hajj Amin el-Husseini who oversaw von Leers’ formal conversion to Islam, and remained one of his confidants. Leers described the origins of the Muslim “forename” Omar Amin, which he adopted as part of his conversion to Islam in a November, 1957 letter to American Nazi H. Keith Thompson:

I myself have embraced Islam and accepted the new forename Omar Amin, Omar according to the great Caliph Omar who was a grim enemy of the Jews, Amin in honor of my friend Hajj Amin el Husseini, the Grand Mufti.

All the hub-bub over Israeli PM’s reference to the Mufti of J’lem during the Mandate period of Palestine, being a major influence on Adolf Hitler in getting rid of the Jews, has caused lots of finger pointing and recriminations within the Jewish community. Yes we know that Adolf Hitler designed and carried out the mass murder of European Jewry, with over 6 million Jews being exterminated in the death camps of national socialism.

That still does not remove the influence and guilt over these death by the islamonazi, Hajj Amin el-Husseini, who prodded and cajoled (as if they ever really needed prodding and cajoling) the Nazis to murder Jews. He even was influential in sealing of escape routes to the Middle East as well as sealing off the fates of Jewish children.

The man was a monster, an Islamic adherent monster, who escaped justice after WWII, the foremost Muslim/Islamic leader in the Middle East who was in lock step with the Nazis in the Final Solution of not only European Jewry, but also the Jews of the Levant and Maghreb if the Nazis proved victorious over the Allied forces.

So lets give Bibi some credit here, he finally raised the leading figure of Arab/Muslim (totally sharia compliant) Jew hatred and extermination. I find myself thanking Netanyahu more than I question the time line of El-Hussieni’s influence peddling.

During a speech yesterday (10/20/15) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appropriately decried the “apologetics” which have minimized the role played by ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Amin el-Husseini (1895-1974)—founder of the modern Palestinian Muslim movement—in fomenting genocidal Islamic Jew-hatred. Netanyahu made these simple, irrefragable points, demonstrating how from the 1920s through (in particular) the World War II era,

the father of the Palestinians at that time, with no [Jewish] state and no so-called “occupation,” no territories and no settlements, already sought, through systematic incitement, to annihilate the Jews. Regrettably, Hajj Amin el-Husseini is still a venerated figure in Palestinian society, he appears in study books and is exalted as the father of the nation, and this incitement that began then, incitement to kill Jews, continues.

On June 30, 1922, a joint resolution of both Houses of Congress of the United States unanimously endorsed the “Mandate for Palestine,” confirming the irrevocable right of Jews to settle in the area of Palestine—anywhere between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. The Congressional record contains astatement of support from New York Rep. Walter Chandler which includes an observation, about “Turkish and Arab agitators . . . preaching a kind of holy war [jihad] against . . . the Jews” of Palestine. During this same era within Palestine, a strong Arab Muslim irredentist current—epitomized by Hajj Amin el-Husseini—promulgated the forcible restoration of sharia-mandated dhimmitude for Jews via jihad. Indeed, two years before he orchestrated the murderous anti-Jewish riots of 1920, that is, in 1918, Hajj Amin el-Husseini stated plainly to a Jewish coworker (at the Jerusalem Governorate), I. A. Abbady, “This was and will remain an Arab land . . . the Zionists will be massacred to the last man. . . . Nothing but the sword will decide the future of this country.”

Despite his role in fomenting the1920 pogroms against Palestinian Jews, el-Husseini was pardoned and subsequently appointed mufti of Jerusalem by the British high commissioner, in May 1921, a title he retained, following the Ottoman practice, for the remainder of his life. Throughout his public career, the mufti relied upon traditional Koranic anti-Jewish motifs to arouse the Arab street. For example, during the incitement which led to the 1929 Arab revolt in Palestine, he called for combating and slaughtering “the Jews.” not merely Zionists. In fact, most of the Jewish victims of the 1929 Arab revolt were Jews from the centuries-old dhimmi communities (for example, in Hebron), as opposed to recent settlers identified with the Zionist movement.

The mufti remained unrelenting in his espousal of a virulent, canonical Islamic Jew-hatred as the focal tenet of his ideology, before, during, and in the aftermath of World War II, and the creation of the State of Israel. He was also a committed supporter of global jihad movements, urging a “full struggle” against the Hindus of India (as well as the Jews of Israel) before delegates at the February 1951 World Muslim Congress: “We shall meet next with sword in hand on the soil of either Kashmir or Palestine.” Declassified intelligence documents from 1942, 1947, 1952, and 1954 confirm the mufti’s own Caliphate desires in repeated references from contexts as diverse as Turkey, Egypt, Jerusalem, and Pakistan, and also include discussions of major Islamic conferences dominated by the mufti, which were attended by a broad spectrum of Muslim leaders literally representing the entire Islamic world (including Shia leaders from Iran), that is, in Karachi from February 16–19, 1952, and Jordanian-occupied Jerusalem, December 3–9, 1953.

During 1938, a booklet Muhammad Sabri edited, Islam, Judentum, Bolschewismus (Islam, Jewry, Bolshevism), was published in Berlin by Junker-Duennhaupt [Dünnhaupt]. Sabri’s booklet included Hajj Amin el-Husseini’s 1937 declaration—also deemed by some as a “fatwa” (an Islamic religious ruling)—appealing to the worldwide Muslim umma. El-Husseini’s declaration was extracted and reprinted, separately, by the Nazi regime as Islam und Judentum(Islam and Jewry), and distributed to Muslim SS units in Bosnia, Croatia, and the Soviet Union. As I detailed in a 2103 monograph, which provided, and riveted upon, the first full English translation of el-Husseini’s 1937 “religious edict” (“fatwa’) about the Jews (available here; and as a free pdf here), the former Mufti of Jerusalem exclusively invoked traditionalist Islamic themes, familiar to the Muslim masses, to incite their annihilationist Islamic Jew-hatred. Reiterating foundational Jew-hating motifs from the Koran itself, and embodied by the inflammatory words and murderous actions of Islam’s prophet Muhammad (in the “hadith” or traditions, and earliest pious Muslim biographies of Muhammad), el-Husseini’s traditional Islamic Jew-hatred has remained a staple of contemporary Palestinian Muslim religious discourse, through the present.

Although a complete understanding of el-Husseini’s 1937 arguments requires a careful reading of all the evidence adduced in my original essay, below is the crux of the analysis.

Just before his concluding admonition for a jihad to annihilate the Jewish community of historical Palestine, Hajj Amin el-Husseini recapitulates the dominant thematic narrative, woven together from a myriad of specific, canonical Islamic motifs, throughout the 1937 proclamation:

[T]he Arabs have learned best how they really are, that is, as they [the Jews] are described in the Koran and in the sacred scriptures… The verses from the Koran and hadith prove to you that the Jews have been the bitterest enemies of Islam and continue to try to destroy it.

What can be readily gleaned from a careful, objective reading of el-Husseini’s proclamation was there were no concrete, substantive references to any non-Islamic sources of antisemitism. This absence of references contrasted starkly with the numerous and specific antisemitic motifs from Islam’s canonical texts—the Koran (consistent with its gloss in authoritative Koranic commentaries), hadith, and sira—which el-Husseini’s declaration invoked continuously, from opening to closing.

Ibn Warraq on my Mufti monograph: “…a scholarly, well-researched response to those who argue that antisemitism in the Islamic world is a modern, Nazi-inspired phenomenon”

November 15th, 2013 (1 minute ago) by Andrew Bostom |

Ibn Warraq, the great scholar of Islam’s origins, and an erudite, passionate defender of the Western cultural patrimony of freedom, and reasoned inquiry, provided the following lovely blurb for my new monograph, The Mufti’s Islamic Jew-Hatred—What the Nazis Learned from Hajj Amin el-Husseini:

“Andrew Bostom’s study is a scholarly, well-researched response to those who would argue that antisemitism in the Islamic world is a modern, Nazi-inspired phenomenon. As Bostom himself once put it, ‘Muslim Jew hatred… dates back to the origins of Islam.’  The ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Amin el-Husseini forged a symbiotic relationship with the Nazis in order to reinforce each other’s pre-existing murderous prejudices. A timely and necessary work.”

Thanks Andy, great discussion with Tom!

How any scholar can continue to pimp the meme of German Nazi anti-Semitic influence on the Mufti of Jerusalem after hearing all the evidence to the contrary (who was spouting anti-Semitic screeds long before the rise of National Socialism), is beyond me.

Notorious Grand Mufti’s ideology was Islam, not Nazism

Posted by: Andrew Bostom 17 October, 2013

CHEPACHET, RHODE ISLAND. It is widely believed that the virulent Jew-hating ideology advanced by the Grand mufti of Jerusalem and other Islamic leaders and institutions after him was a result of Nazi influence. An extensive textual analysis by American scholar Andrew Bostom proves that it not the case. Islamic Jew-hatred is rooted in Islam’s canonical texts.

During his October 6, 2013 speech at Bar Ilan University in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu alluded to the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Amin al-Husseini. Mr. Netanyahu characterized al-Husseini as, “the undisputed leader of the Palestinian national movement in the first half of the 20th century.” The Prime Minister highlighted the ex-Mufti’s role in fomenting pogroms (dating back, in fact, to the so-called “Nabi Musa” riots of 1920) during the decades leading up to the creation of the State of Israel in 1948.

Netanyahu’s address also focused on al-Husseini’s World War II era collaboration with the Nazis, the clear implication being that the Mufti’s murderous, Jew-hating ideology was simply another manifestation of Nazi evil, transplanted to a local “nationalistic struggle” in the Middle East. I have just published an extensive analysis, which demonstrates that Netanyahu’s rehashing of such conventional, pseudo-academic “wisdom,” does not withstand any serious, objective scrutiny.

On June 30, 1922, a joint resolution of both Houses of Congress of the United States unanimously endorsed the “Mandate for Palestine,” confirming the irrevocable right of Jews to settle in the area of Palestin – anywhere between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. There is nothing new in the genocidal notions of Palestinian leaders today, they’ve been busy with it long before the outbreak of WWII. Their anti-Jewish rhetoric was so profound that it caught the attention of Adolf Hitler himself.

Recently, The Inquisitr conducted a remarkable and frank interview with Dr. Manfred Gerstenfeld, a Member of the Board of Fellows of the Jerusalem Center For Public Affairs. Dr. Gerstenfeld is an eminently kind man, who like all Israelis, yearns for peace. He spoke today to Wolff Bachner and made this comment about the threat Hamas presents to Israel and the genocidal aspirations of Palestinian society toward the Jewish people and the Jewish nation of Israel:

“The present indiscriminate rocket attacks from Gaza are yet another example of the profound criminality which in many ways permeates Palestinian society. In the general Palestinian elections of January 2006, the only ones so far, Palestinians elected Hamas as the leading party. This is a movement which in its charter promotes the genocide of all Jews. According to studies by the Pew Research Center, more than 20% of Palestinians share the world view of Al Qaeda. Already before the Second World War, Palestinian leaders promoted genocide of Jews living in what was then Palestine.”

It’s about time, finally something of value for our 270 Euros we shell out each year to the Finnish state for the privilege of watching TV. A documentary that shows the working relationship between the Arabs and the German National Socialist during WWII.

NOTE: It wasn’t just the Mufti, but many other Arab leaders in the Arab world as well. More on that later.

Here is more on this Jew hating war criminal. Thanks to Kumitonttu for  the heads up.

The specter of Hajj Amin al-Husseini still haunts the region of the Middle East. Though he’s been long since dead, -dying in Egypt in 74′ with a thirty year old international arrest warrant on his head for crimes committed in WWII- he yet remains a pivotal figure in understanding the nazification of the ME, and the introduction of ancient Western anti-Semitic motifs that have taken root with it’s Islamic variant.

Hajj Amin Al-Husseini, the former Mufti of J’Lem has been a frequent topic at the Tundra Tabloids, and it’s good to see the NYT no less, finally writing about the connection he had with Hitler’s Nazi Germany. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve either read or heard with my own ears the charge that the Arabs had nothing to do with the extermination of Europe’s Jews, “so why should they be forced to handle the guilt (the creation of a Jewish state of Israel) that Europe has over the genocide of its Jews.”

It’s a bogus gripe, for the Arabs were up to their necks with the Nazis, many of whom found refuge in Arab lands and helped to build their propaganda depts. in order to wage another kind of war against the Jews. The delegitimization of both Jews and the Jewish state. KGS

Declassified Papers Show U.S. Recruited Ex-Nazis

In chilling detail, the report also elaborates on the close working relationship between Nazi leaders and the grand mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin al-Husseini, who later claimed that he sought refuge in wartime Germany only to avoid arrest by the British.

In fact, the report says, the Muslim leader was paid “an absolute fortune” of 50,000 marks a month (when a German field marshal was making 25,000 marks a year). It also said he energetically recruited Muslims for the SS, the Nazi Party’s elite military command, and was promised that he would be installed as the leader of Palestine after German troops drove out the British and exterminated more than 350,000 Jews there.

On Nov. 28, 1941, the authors say, Hitler told Mr. Husseini that the Afrika Corps and German troops deployed from the Caucasus region would liberate Arabs in the Middle East and that “Germany’s only objective there would be the destruction of the Jews.”

The report details how Mr. Husseini himself was allowed to flee after the war to Syria — he was in the custody of the French, who did not want to alienate Middle East regimes — and how high-ranking Nazis escaped from Germany to become advisers to anti-Israeli Arab leaders and “were able to carry on and transmit to others Nazi racial-ideological anti-Semitism.”

“You have an actual contract between officials of the Nazi Foreign Ministry with Arab leaders, including Husseini, extending after the war because they saw a cause they believed in,” Dr. Breitman said. “And after the war, you have real Nazi war criminals — Wilhelm Beisner, Franz Rademacher and Alois Brunner — who were quite influential in Arab countries.”

In October 1945, the report says, the British head of Palestine’s Criminal Investigation Division told the assistant American military attaché in Cairo that the mufti might be the only force able to unite the Palestine Arabs and “cool off the Zionists. Of course, we can’t do it, but it might not be such a damn bad idea at that.”

“We have more detailed scholarly accounts today of Husseini’s wartime activities, but Husseini’s C.I.A. file indicates that wartime Allied intelligence organizations gathered a healthy portion of this incriminating evidence,” the report says. “This evidence is significant in light of Husseini’s lenient postwar treatment.” He died in Beirut in 1974.

And we’re surprised? Nope.

The infamous WWII Arab war criminal, Hajj Amin al-Husseini is a familiar subject here at the Tundra Tabloids, anyone who reads these pages regularly knows just who and what the late Mufti of J’lem is all about. Mahmoud Abbas’ praising of this practitioner of the Nazis’ genocide of the Jews during the Second World War, (as well as inciting Arabs against Jews in Mandate Palestine before WW II) would be akin to a Western leader heaping praise upon, Martin Borman, who was sentenced to death in absentia by the Nuremburg War Crimes Tribunal, (with the difference being that Borman didn’t personally raise two SS divisions with the intent of exterminating Jews like Hajj al-Husseini). KGS

NOTE: The Elder of Ziyon has been making some “to-the-point” posters about Abbas, here’s the latest, with a portion of his post below it.

In the same speech that Mahmoud Abbas waxed nostalgically over the PLO in 1964 today, he added, “We must also recall the outstanding [early] leadership of the Palestinian people, the Grand Mufti of Palestine-Haj Mohammed Amin al-Husseini, who sponsored the struggle from the beginning, and sponsored the struggle and displacement for the cause and died away from his home.”

The Mufti was a rabid Jew-hater who was the driving force behind not only the 1929 massacres in Jerusalem and Hebron but also the 1936-39 riots that resulted in the deaths of hundreds. He moved to Germany during World War II, hoping that Hitler would win and allow to him murder every Jewish man, woman and child in Palestine, and proposing plans to do exactly that.

This is Mahmoud Abbas’ hero.

For some reason, that part of his speech wasn’t translated in the English version of the Ma’an article.

If any Western politician would publicly praise a Nazi sympathizer who supported genocide, their careers would be over. When the so-called “moderate” PA leaders do exactly that, no one says a word.

NOTE: Good to see the information surrounding the Mufti’s role as an ally of Hitler and complicit in the Final Solution of the Jews, as well as the legacy of  genocide he bequeathed to Arab/Muslim world, which can be seen in the Arabs’ war against the Jewish state of Israel. KGS

Bosniak Muslims form new supremacist nationalist movement. They’re NAZIS, born and bred on the same hate filled, supremacist dogma that led a prior generation of Bosniaks (and to some extent Croats) to form the 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Hanjar.

Unit insignia of 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Handschar

The role Islam played in the final solution of the Jews in Europe was known at the time, but due to competing interests by the victorious Allied Powers after WWII, the role Arabs/Muslims played in the murdering of Jews, Gypsies and Serbs in the Balkans was never really examined or prosecuted in any meaningful way.
The British never aggressively sought after the return of the war criminal, the former Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Amin al-Husseini, who fled to Egypt, nor did the Arab states seek the former Mufti’s being turned over to the  war crimes tribunal, instead, they made him president of the World Islamic Congress.

So once again Bosniaks are picking up the insignias of Muslim Nationalist Fascism once used during WWII and embracing the ideology of their former leader, the Nazi Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Amin Al-Husseini. The circle is now complete. KGS

Nazi Bosnian Pride Movement formed

Bosnian neo-nazi organization was birthed today that insists that Bosnia belongs to the Bosniaks, an invented nationality with which Bosnian Muslims identify in order to avoid their religious background when talking to the Western press.
The new Nazi Bosnian Pride Movement (Bosanski pokret nacionalnog ponosa) believes that Serbs and Croats have no right to the state and that the state belongs exclusively to Bosnian Muslims, aka Bosniaks. The Pride’s insignia is pictured on the left.
The Nazi Bosnian Pride Movement has expanded its enemy list from their WWII predecessors, the Handzar Division and the Young Muslims.
As their enemies, Nazi Bosnian Pride Movement includes the usual ones they were exterminating in WWII – Jews, Gypsies and Serbs – but have expand the list to include Chetniks, Tito, communists, homosexuals, blacks and Croatian separatists.
The group plans to spread nazi leaflets very soon in the cities of Sarajevo, Zenica, Bihac, Tuzla and Mostar, all cities with substantial Muslim and Croat population that will find the message appealing.
The group’s a notoriously slow to load web site, bosnacenter.com, serves up a blank page but with little googling their moderated chat room appears with postings on Zionism, Serb Republic, Truth and 5 questions for perspective members.

Jeffrey Herf Interview: Nazi propaganda for the Arab world

Al-Masry Al-Youm: The West in general uses the term anti-Semitism, although both Arabs and Jews are Semitic. Are there other terms that are more apt.
Jeffrey Herf: The answer to this and other questions are in my book,
Nazi Propaganda for the Arab World. An entire chapter explores the extensive efforts made by the Nazi regime to avoid the use of the term “anti-Semitism.” It was, its officials stressed, a regime animated by antagonism toward the Jews but not towards Arabs and Muslims in general. The term anti-Semitism has long entered academic discourse to refer to hatred of Jews.
Al-Masry: Most Arab historians agree that the Nazis did not contribute great ideas that grew in the region, but you posit the opposite. What evidence supports your position?
Herf: The Nazi Arabic language radio broadcasts during World War II to the Middle East simultaneously attacked Zionism and the Jews. The absurd and false notion that an international Jewish conspiracy existed and was a major force in world politics was a key theme of Nazism’s wartime propaganda. Conspiratorial thinking focused on the supposed power of the Jews persisted after the war in the Middle East. The pejorative and hateful depictions of Jews in Nazi propaganda, the belief that they were inherently evil and that they should be punished as a result found echoes in the postwar publications of the Muslim Brotherhood, the writings of Sayyid Qutb, the postwar activities of Haj Amin al-Husseini, the Egyptian government’s propaganda under Nasser and in the Hamas Covenant of 1988.
Al-Masry: You claim in your book that the Nazis used Islamic heritage to increase hostility towards Jews. How was this done?
Herf: Nazi officials dealing with propaganda aimed at Arabs and Muslims concluded that a selective reading of the Quran and the commentaries about it was their most effective means of reaching this audience. In so doing they drew out the already existing anti-Jewish themes. They presented Islam — not radical, fundamentalist, political or jihadist Islam, but Islam in general –as a religion infused with and inseparable from hatred for the Jews.
In their view, from the time that the Jews rejected Prophet Mohammed’s demands that they convert to Islam, the Jews became an “enemy” of Islam. In so doing, Nazism’s Arabic-language propaganda placed the events of the mid-20th century into the far longer context of a supposed, but actually false, Jewish antagonism to Islam as a religion. They described Zionist aspirations as only the most recent chapter in a supposedly ancient Jewish effort to “destroy Islam.” In this effort they found quotations from the Quran and the commentaries on it that included pejorative and hateful comments about the Jews.

Al-Masry: You mention that the most important figure used by the Nazis in the region was Haj Amin al-Husseini, Grand Mufti of Jerusalem from 1921 to 1948. Al-Husseini struggled against the English occupation and Zionism in Palestine long before going to Germany, where his ideas were not radically changed. Is there new evidence to support your position?

Herf: Al-Husseini’s collaboration with the Nazi regime was never only an alliance of convenience based on the principle that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.” In wartime Berlin there was a genuine meeting of hearts and minds between himself and other Arab and radical Islamist exiles with Hitler and officials in the German Foreign Ministry and the SS. On a number of occasions the Arabic language broadcasts which al-Husseini and the other pro-Nazi Arab and Islamist exiles helped to write and broadcast openly called on listeners to “kill the Jews.”

The new evidence in Nazi Propaganda for the Arab World includes more documentation of the Jew-hatred that al-Husseini brought with him to Berlin and of his skill at blending his bigotry with the conspiracy theories coming from the Nazi regime. This new evidence comes from the files of the American Embassy in wartime Cairo and the files of the German Foreign Ministry and SS in Germany. The Americans in wartime Cairo transcribed and translated the broadcasts by al-Husseini, Younis Bahri and others, and sent the texts back to the State Department in Washington. These documents in US government archives were important for my new book. This new evidence makes clear that one chapter in the longer history of radical Islamism was written in Berlin in World War II where there was not a clash of civilizations but a meeting of hearts and minds based on their worst elements.

Al-Masry: If we assume that Nazi propaganda against Jews had an impact in the Arab region, why did it not end with the fall of Nazism?

Herf: As I explained in my previous book, The Jewish Enemy: Nazi Propaganda during World War II and the Holocaust, the Nazi regime claimed that the Jews were responsible for starting World War II and that they controlled the governments of Britain, the US and the Soviet Union. In the minds of die-hard Nazis, the fact that the Allies won World War II meant that “the Jews” had won the war. The extermination of Europe’s Jews did not, in their minds, undermine this ideologically driven distortion. This idea was carried over to the Arab world by Nazi Germany’s Arabic language propaganda broadcasts, which asserted that a victory for the Allies, led by the US, Britain and the Soviet Union, would be a victory for the Jews. In the minds of Nazi sympathizers and their radical Islamist, Arab and Persian supporters, the foundation of the state of Israel in 1948 appeared to confirm that the predictions of Nazi propaganda had been accurate.

In Diana West’s post about the farce, political trial of the Dutch politician, Geert Wilders, by the Dutch state for offending Muslim sensibilities, (the Tundra Tabloids is flattered Diana used a TT photoshop) Diana highlights a few points that bear repeating here at the TT. The trial of Geert Wilders is not being based on Dutch law, but on Islamic sharia law, otherwise the trial would have never been considered in the first place.

Dians writes: “I have no respect for this,” Wilders added. He pointed out that in a typical criminal case there are often dozens of witnesses heard.

But this is not a typical trial. This is a rigged game, a fixed fight, a show trial that is premised not on Dutch law but on Islamic law. Indeed, the trial of Geert Wilders is a test case for sharia in the Netherlands, the grafting onto a free Western country the repressive cage of Islamic rule.
Discussing Muslim progress against “Islamophobia” at the 35th meeting of foreign ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Kampala, Uganda in 2008, Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu made the following statement:
In confronting the Danish cartoons and the Dutch film “Fitna”, we sent a clear message to the West regarding the red lines that should not be crossed. As we speak, the official West and its public opinion are all now well-aware of the sensitivities of these issues. They have also started to look seriously into the question of freedom of expression from the perspective of its inherent responsibility, which should not be overlooked
One reading doesn’t convey the chilling import of these words”

Now, the Tundra Tabloids confronted the very same OIC secretary-general when he came to Helsinki in 08′, in which the TT issued the following (partial here) statement concerning free speech:

Contrary to what the Secretary-General says, freedom of speech does in fact mean the right to insult. Regardless of how tasteless it may be, it is a crucial, integral part of freedom of speech, one simply can’t survive without the other.
Can OIC sec-Gen offer his own personal assurances that the O I C is not going to use the conference,(DurbanII) to attack Israel, as well as focusing on global blasphemy, which “would legitimize arbitrary restrictions of freedom of thought, conscience and religion, and the freedoms of expression and opinion, all in the name of protecting religions from ‘defamation’ and ‘blasphemy.?”

Here is Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu’s (partial) response to the question about the right to insult:

The freedom sir, does not mean insulting, this is not acceptable, this is incitement to hatred on a religious basis, on a racial basis is prohibited by international convention.

Let me also add that Ishanoglu went on to bloviate in response to the TT’s pointing out the OIC’s pretending to be worried about human rights (due to its member states support and promotion of the worst forms of antisemitic propaganda) that “no Muslim good or bad could be antisemitic”.
So by default, the OIC sec-gen slandred all non-Muslims as being the only ones guilty of antisemitism, while removing any Islamic guilt for the same. The late Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Amin al-Husseini would be proud of him.
Former Mufti of Jerusalem
Hajj Amin al-Husseini:
Thanks Ekmeleddin, you’re a true Muslim

The photo is inscribed by Himmler:

Seiner Eminenz dem Grossmufti 4 VII 1943 zur erinnerung H Himmler

Atlas has a couple more posts up on the Nazi-German/Muft-Arab axis. Read up on just how cozy and warm the German high command were with the thought of the Grand Mufti of J’lem, Hajj Amin al-Husseini becoming the “Fuehrer of Muslims”. Pamela has got the goods on this story, go on over to Atlas and read up:

From Himmler with Love: “His Eminence, the Grand Mufti, In Remembrance”

It is almost impossible to believe that after the genocide of over six million Jews, the political committee of the General Assembly met (without a dissenting vote) to invite the Arav Higher Committee to testify before it on the Palestine [actually Israel] question.
“Moreover, a special sitting of the General Assembly, was convened under pressure of the Arab states, in order to issue the invitation in a form which would invest the Arab Higher Committee with the same diplomatic status as the Jewish Agency for Palestine, the internationally recognized representative of the Jewish people.: [source;[1] THE ARAB HIGHER COMMITTEE ITS ORIGINS, PERSONNEL AND PURPOSES: The Documentary Record submitted to the United Nations May 1947. Something went terribly wrong in the aftermath of the defeat of evil. The face of Hitler’s soulmate, the Grand Mufti Haj Amin El Husseini, should be seared on the conscience of man as powerful an evil icon as Hitler. The Grand Mufti should be as large and as powerful a symbol of evil as Heil Hitler. And yet he is not. Worse, his responsibility is little known, and where he is known, he is celebrated, exalted in the Islamic world.
Read the Mufti’s personal recollections of his time with Hitler. The [Ed.] in brackets is not me but the original document, THE ARAB HIGHER COMMITTEE: ITS ORIGINS, PERSONNEL AND PURPOSES, submitted to the UN in 1947:

The former Mufti of Jerusalem, and uncle of the late Yasser Arafat, Hajj Amin al-Husseini:
“Egyptians rise as one man to kill the Jews before they have a chance of betraying the Egyptian people. It is the duty of the Egyptians to annihilate the Jews and to destroy their property. … You must kill the Jews, before they open fire on you. Kill the Jews, who have appropriated your wealth and who are plotting against your security. Arabs of Syria, Iraq, and Palestine, what are you waiting for? The Jews are planning to violate your women, to kill your children and to destroy you.
According to the Muslim religion, the defense of your life is a duty which can only be fulfilled by annihilating the Jews.
This is your best opportunity to get rid of this dirty race, which has usurped your rights and brought misfortune and destruction on your countries. Kill the Jews, burn their property, destroy their stores, annihilate these base supporters of British imperialism. Your sole hope of salvation lies in annihilating the Jews before they annihilate you.”
Ah yes, the Muslims keep getting their religion all wrong. The late Mufti of Jerusalem, an antisemite and war criminal for his participation in the final solution of European Jews (and most certainly those Jews living in the Levant if Germany had won the war) with the National Socialists.

Atlas Shrugs has been posting on the blueprints for Auschwitz that were found in 2008 in a wall of an apartment in Berlin, if it was the Mufti’s apt, it would prove the Arabs’ role in the final solution (read=genocide) of the Jews in Europe. The Arabs, led by the antisemitic firebrand, Mufti Hajj Amin al-Husseini, had deep connections with the German National Socialists, so much so that he visited Nazi death camps and formed SS divisions in the Balkans comprised of Bosnian Muslims. You know, the same people and region present day apologists for Islam say has always fostered good relations between Muslims and Jews. KGS

Read it all.

This was posted at Vlad Tepes. The Tundra Tabloids would like to point out (once again) that the Mufti Hajj Amin al-Husseini’s antisemitism was rooted in Islamic texts, such as the Koran and Hadiths. They formed the prime motivating factors for the late Mufti’s Jew hatred and willingness to join forces with Hitler’s National Socialist Germany. The Myth of a Moderate Muslim Balkan Region…….

The Tundra Tabloids had the pleasure of meeting Israeli MK, Arieh Eldad, at the Counter-Jihad conference in Brussels last year. He gave a very moving and thought provoking speech at the EU building, during the first day of the conference.
Pamela at Atlas Shrugs and Baron Bodissey at Gates of Vienna have posted Eldad’s most recent article, concerning the decision of some states to recognize the Islamic enclave of Kosovo as an independent sovereign state. The Tundra Tabloids is already on record as being against recognition of yet another Muslim state in Europe, and after reading Eldad’s article, the TT views have been only reaffirmed.
If you want -and I suggest that you do- the entire article can be viewed in full here, I just want to draw your attention to one of the salient points in Eldad’s article, which revolves around the myth of a peaceful Muslim Balkan region. That is one of the most often spread myths about Sufi Islam, in that it’s only interested in the mystical, spiritual realm, not in the political form of Islam that is most noticeable in the Sunni and Shiite branches of Islam.

Diving straight into the article, Arieh Eldad warns about the notion that the Muslim region has always been inhabited by a more peaceful strain of Islam. As many have come to find out by reading the Tundra Tabloids, Hajj Amin-al-Husseini was in thick with the Nazis, shared their hatred of Jews, and wanted to see the Third Reich victorious in order to rid the Levant of its Jews as well.

“I have heard commentators explaining that neither we nor Europe should fear Kosovo because the Kosovians are “moderate Moslems.” It was from these moderate Moslems that Haj Amin el-Husseini gathered tens of thousands of volunteers for the 13th SS Division (“Handschar”) and 21st SS Division (“Skanderbeg”).

On them he built his dream of marching with Hitler’s armies into Palestine and destroying the Jews of Eretz Israel. Today Israel, together with its European partners, must present a solid front to stop the spread of Islam in Europe, for as long as the Moslem strength there increases, the tendency of European countries to prefer the Arabs over Israel will also increase. “

I fail to see what benefits there would be for EU, US and the rest of Europe, in bestowing state sovereignty to a highly corrupt, drug infested, mafia run Muslim enclave, other than being “a sop” for the oil producing Muslim states. “See how friendly we are, we can’t solve the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, but we are willing and ready to shove a knife into our own gullet for the sake of proving how sympathetic we are to the Muslims!”

Unbelievable! Just how daft is Europe and the US to allow such a bastard state gain its sovereignty, and hold to the belief that it’ll stabalize the region? Haven’t we learned anything from history? *L* KGS

NOTE: A comment found at the Brussels Journal: “it could be argued that no Arab state can recognise Kosovo without accepting the right of Israel to exist.”
