Two women known as ‘cutters’ have described how girls are pinned down and blindfolded while being cut with a razor blade during gruesome FGM procedures in the backstreets of Kenya.
CNN’s Nima Elbagir gained exclusive access to a mother and daughter known as ‘cutters’ in Nairobi, Kenya, where the practice of female genital mutilation remains commonplace.
It is here that many British girls with links to the African country are taken during their school holidays in order to undergo the brutal and barbaric procedure.

There are indeed hierarchies in culture.
Demand is high in Sweden for a new procedure allowing women who have gone through female circumcision to have their clitorises reconstructed.
The procedure was introduced in Sweden in January. So far, six surgeries have been performed and over 20 women are on a waiting list. One of them is Mariam, who told Radio Sweden: “I want to look like all other women. I want a normal vagina. That’s what I’m after.”
Mariam underwent circumcision twice; first at the age of six and then again when she was 12 – because her mother did not think she had been properly circumcised the first time around.
Mariam has undergone the most extreme form of female genital mutilation ”They removed everything,” she says, “the clitoris and labia – and then they sewed me up, leaving only a small hole so I could pee”.
Now, Mariam has been told that the clitoris reconstruction surgery could help her – both physically and aesthetically.
“I was shown pictures of people who have done it. Before the surgery they looked just like me, and then afterwards it looked great. They were 3D images. If I end up looking like that, I’ll be very pleased,” says Mariam.

With the remaining 8% largely comprised of Coptic women, so the headline should actually read:

Up to 92 per cent of married women in Egypt have undergone female genital mutilation, it has been revealed. A young girl is pictured above undergoing FGM in Egypt in 1987

Up to 92 per cent of married women in Egypt have undergone female genital mutilation, it has been revealed.
The country’s Minister of Health Adel Adawy said the figure relates to women aged between 15 and 49 – and is even higher at 95 per cent in rural areas.
Most females undergo the procedure between the ages of nine and 12 and less than a third of the operations are carried out by doctors, the minister said.
According to Egyptian Streets, the statistics were revealed at a conference examining the results of last year’s Egypt Demographic and Health Survey.
It found that 30 per cent of married women believe the practice should be banned – but more than half were in favour of the procedure for religious reasons.
Egypt has one of the highest rates of female genital mutilation in the world and criminalised the practice in 2008, but it remains widespread.
The Swedish welfare agency Socialstyrelsen estimates that some 38 000 girls have already been subjected to severe mutilation of their private parts, with another 19 000 being “in danger” of the procedure.
The procedure is the removal of parts of the female anatomy, so that no pleasure can be derived from sex as an adult. The procedure is usually done with a razorblade or simple knife without anasthesia. More info on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), also known as female genital cutting and female circumcision, can be found on WHO and Wikipedia.
This barbaric practice is common in Africa and has followed the tide of immigration to Sweden. FGM is of course illegal, but since Sweden has a knee-jerk response to drop anything questioning the religious customs of any immigrant, virtually no enforcement or tracking is in place to protect the girls. The report linked above is an estimate, since noone has the guts to actually address the issue. When local health workers try to sound the alarm about the rise in FGM, the decision-makers wring their hands and start mumbling about “personal integrity” to avoid the risk of being portrayed as “racist” in the media.

Member of the European Parliament and leader of the UK Independence Party (UKIP) Nigel Farage said that Europe has “suffered from moral cowardice” on Monday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel.
“It isn’t just France. it’s happening right across Europe. We’ve got no-go zones in most of the big French cities. We’ve been turning a blind eye to preachers of hate that have been coming here from the Middle East and saying things, for which the rest of us would be arrested in parts of Northern England. We’ve seen a sexual grooming scandal of underage girls committed by Muslim men in the majority, and for all of these things we’re seeing the law not being applied equally. We’re seeing the police forces not actually doing their job because we’ve suffered from moral cowardice” he stated.
Farage then laid out examples of this cowardice, saying “In the United Kingdom there have been tens of thousands of female genital mutilations that have been carried out. Despite that, there has not yet been a single prosecution for anybody for carrying out FGM. We even a few years ago had some quite clear examples where the immigration services were actually allowing women to come into Britain from Pakistan and elsewhere to join polygamist marriages, something that is against our law. So wherever you look, wherever you look, you see this blind eye being turned. And you see the growth of ghettos where the police and all the normal agents of the law have withdrawn. And that is where Sharia Law has come in.”
Meanwhile, leftist feminists in the U.S. are still focused on government subsidized prophylactics.
In fact, the Central West African region that practices FGM, especially Liberia and Sierra Leone, are unique in certain ways.
Although the Dutch, Portuguese, and British had trading posts in West Africa, Liberia was first colonized by free American Blacks in the early 19th century. This was an Abolitionist vision, one which President Thomas Jefferson shared. Britain settled the Black Poor of London in Sierre Leone.
The Americo-Liberians created a cultural and racial caste system with themselves at the top and the indigenous Liberians at the bottom. They practiced slavery. In the late 20th and early 21st centuries, after years of terrible and unending civil wars, both traditional, Christian, and Muslim pro-peace Liberian women took to the streets; eventually they helped elect a Christian woman, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, as President.
This is not surprising. Liberia (40% traditional religions, 40% Christianity and traditional religions, 20% Muslim); Sierre Leone (60% Muslim, 30% Christian, 10% traditional religions); Guinea (85% Muslim, 10% Christian, 5% traditional); Ivory Coast (39% Muslim, 30% 17% Atheist, 12% Christian), are all countries which initiate girls into the traditionally mandatory Sande Society.
And if they really do dig into the investigation, they’ll find that it’s only the tip of the iceberg, common sense dictates.
Previously, 1, 279 such girls and women were known to be receiving post-mutilation treatment. However, estimates suggest that up to “170,000 women and girls living in the UK may have undergone FGM.”
This is simply not acceptable.
Female genital mutilation (FGM) is not at all like male circumcision. Not only is the capacity for sexual pleasure destroyed, complications are routine and include bleeding, painful urination, cysts, dangerous and recurrent bladder and urinary tract infections, the growth of scar tissue that make marital intercourse a nightmare and that turns childbirth into an experience of danger and torture. It increases the likelihood of newborn deaths. In addition, some girls and women develop fistulas and become incontinent. They are doomed to defecate and urinate without control. Absent effective surgery, this is a life-long condition which leads to the woman being shunned by her family.
And then there is a life-long post-traumatic stress disorder that normally accompanies the experience of having been forced into such suffering, usually by your mother or grandmother, and at the hands of a female specialist.
But all cultures are supposedly equal in according to radical egalitarian multicultural thinking!
“We’re working to inform parents that they could face prison if they come back and their children have undergone female genital mutilation,” said Petra Blom Andersson, student health coordinator in Norrköping, to the newspaper.
NOTE: One day when Islamic demographics in Sweden reach critical mass, the above statement will be rendered moot.

Of the 30, some 28 of the girls were found to have been subjected to the most severe form of genital mutilation, when the clitoris and labia are completely cut away and the genital area sewn together except for a small opening.
The abuse was discovered by the school health services, according to a report by Norrköpings Tidningar. Additional resources have been provided by the local social services to help the girls.
Female genital mutilation has been illegal in Sweden since 1982 and can be punished with up to four years in prison. If the offence is considered to be aggravated then the penalty can be up to ten years.
The world is indeed brighter, especially for women who have left Islam.

Four women have had new vaginas grown in the laboratory and implanted by doctors in the US.
A tissue sample and a biodegradable scaffold were used to grow vaginas in the right size and shape for each woman as well as being a tissue match.
They all reported normal levels of “desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction” and painless intercourse.
Experts said the study, published in the Lancet, was the latest example of the power of regenerative medicine.
‘I feel fortunate’
In each woman the vagina did not form properly while they were still inside their mother’s womb, a condition known as vaginal aplasia.
This is something that the dissemblers and apologists for Islam would like to hide from us all, but facts are troublesome and stubborn things, as Andy points out. At the 4:15 mark in the interview by FOX’s Megyn Kelly, Fibber Hooper says the following:
”American Muslims join people of conscience of all faiths in condemning female genital mutilation…”
That’s a bald faced lie, seeing that FGM is an intrinsic part to Islamic ideology in keeping the Muslim female corralled.
NOTE: What Megyn Kelly should now do, is to invite Andy Bostom to speak on the subject, in length, in order to clear the air once and for all.
Having thus far refused to honestly acknowledge, let alone confront the clear, authoritative Islamic imprimatur for FGM-C—from Muhammad’s alleged utterance, to classical and modern jurists, across a millennium, till today—in Islamic societies, perhaps all these strange bedfellows, The Clarion Project/The Ayaan Hirsi Ali Foundation, Quanta Ahmed, and CAIR, will, pardon the reference, gird their loins within the security of the U.S., remonstrate against AMJA’s apparent “distortion” of Islam, and explain to AMJA’s clerics why they are wrong. Better still, invite all the parties—AMJA’s clerics and any of The Clarion Project/The Ayaan Hirsi Ali Foundation, Quanta Ahmed, and CAIR to debate whether Islam sanctions FGM/C on Fox News’ The Kelly File.
by ANDREW G. BOSTOM
Despite their ongoing antagonisms—played out, prominently, on Fox News—a bizarre, shared apologetic has emerged which denies the irrefragable sanctioning of female genital mutilation/“circumcision” (FGM/C) by canonical Islamic tradition (“hadith”), and over 1100 years of authoritative, mainstream Islamic jurisprudence. The strange bedfellow antagonists engaged in these overlapping apologetics about FGM/C are the Clarion Foundation and its film “Honor Diaries,” allied with the Ayaan Hirsi Ali Foundation (Ms. Ali is also listed as the film’s executive producer), “versus” the Hamas-linked cultural jihadist organization, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). Fox News has served as overseer of this “conflict” cum consensus, while also reinforcing the fallacy that FGM/C is simply a tragic manifestation of misogynistic patriarchal trends that are generic, and have “no basis” in Islam and the Sharia, Islamic law.
Ibrahim Hooper of CAIR issued the following statement (which Fox News host Megyn Kelly aired on her broadcast), that melds Islamic negationism (in bold, below), with vitriol against the Clarion Foundation-produced film:
American Muslims join people of conscience of all faiths in condemning female genital mutilation, forced marriages, “honor killings” and any other form of domestic violence or gender inequality as violations of Islamic beliefs. If anyone mistreats women, they should not seek refuge in Islam. The real concern in this case is that the producers of the film, who have a track record of promoting anti-Muslim bigotry, are hijacking a legitimate issue to push their hate-filled agenda.
Notwithstanding the obsessive focus on Hooper/CAIR’s predictably gratuitous attack against the producers of “Honor Diaries,” what has been deliberately obfuscated by conservative supporters of the film are mirror image statements denying the centrality of Islamic doctrine such as this blatantly false Ayaan Hirsi Ali Foundation websitepronouncement:
FGM has no foundation in Islamic scripture or law.
Quanta Ahmed, a protagonist in “Honor Diaries,” appearing in one of Megyn Kelly’s Fox News segments on the “CAIR vs. bold filmmakers controversy,” made a Goebbel’s-like inversion of morality. Ahmed not only denied Islam’s sanctioning of FGM in “Honor Diaries,” claiming, falsely, “Female genital mutilation is not advocated in Islam in any way shape or form,” during her March 31, 2014 interview with Megyn Kelly she compounded her mendacity with themorally perverse observation that,
the most Islamic act is to expose this injustice
This shared mendacity by current antagonists CAIR, Clarion, the Ayaan Hirsi Foundation, and Dr. Quanta Ahmed, deliberately obfuscates, as but one salient example, the following canonical hadith (“tradition” of Muhammad) which sanctions FGM/C:
Umm Atiyyah al-Ansariyyah said: A woman used to perform circumcision in Medina. The Prophet said to her: “Do not cut severely as that is better for a woman and more desirable for a husband.” [Sunan Abu Dawud, Chapter 1888, “Circumcision of Girls”, Number 5251, from Sunan Abu Dawud, one of the six canonical hadith collections, English translation with Explanatory notes by Prof. Ahmad Hasan, 2007, Volume III, p. 1451; this hadith is also available online here, as Book 41, Number 5251]
Professor Hasan’s note adds the following observations:
Some Shafii scholars hold that circumcision of girls is obligatory, but others think that it is recommended. Ahmad b. Hanbal and some Maliki jurists hold that it is obligatory. Abu Hanifah maintains that it is recommended and not obligatory. Mali holds that it is recommended and not obligatory.

The great Muslim polymath al-Jahiz (d, 869) noted that female circumcision was specifically employed as a means to reduce female “concupiscence,” unbridled lust—or mere sexual pleasure, derived from a fully intact clitoris:
[Al-Jahiz, Kitab al-hayawan, Vol. 7, pp. 27-29] A woman with a clitoris has more pleasure than a woman without a clitoris. The pleasure depends on the quanityt which was cut from the clitoris. Muhammad said, “If you cut, cut the slightest part and do not exaggerate because it makes the face more beautiful and it is more pleasing for the husband.” It seems Muhammad wanted to reduce the concupiscence of the women to moderate it. If concupiscence is reduced, the pleasure is also reduced…The love of the husband is an impediment against debauchery. Judge Janab Al-Khaskhash contends that he counted in one village the number of women who were circumcised and those who were not, and he found that the circumcised were chaste and the majority of the debauched were uncircumcised. Indian, Byzantine, and Persian women often commit adultery and run after men because their concupiscence towards men is greater. For this reason, India created brothels. This happened because of the massive presence of their clitorises and their hoods.
Multiculturalism, embrace it!
What they are now saying, by default, is that not all cultures are equal, something that I’ve been stating for years.

Thousands of women and girls have been treated in London hospitals for the effects of female genital mutilation, suggesting that many more have received similar treatment nationwide.
Nearly 4,000 women and girls, some of them born in the UK, were treated for FGM in hospitals across the capital since 2009, according to figures released under the Freedom of Information Act.
Campaigners said the London figures, obtained by BBC News, suggested there were thousands of women across Britain suffering the after-effects of FGM while many girls also live under threat of mutilation.
Despite being classed as torture by the United Nations and a crime in Britain since 1985, there have been no prosecutions against those responsible for the brutal practice which is generally inflicted when victims are babies or young girls.
I strongly object to the use of the word ‘circumcision’ to describe the procedure in cutting a little girl’s clitoris, it’s mutilation. Full, stop. It’s used as a means to deprive (in many cases) the female of sexual arousal and satisfaction, male circumcision does not.
This has nothing to do with actual circumcision, and everything to do with denying the female gender any sexual pleasure whatsoever, due to Islamic misogynistic traditions that place the female into the preordained role of promiscuous behavior from birth. This imam has studied Islam in all of the top Islamic institutions in the world, and this is the end result.
A MUSLIM leader and outspoken opponent of female genital mutilation says female circumcision, which he defines as the partial removal of the clitoral hood, is not only an utterly distinct practice, but the “divinely ordained right of a woman” under Islam.
Sydney-based Al-Ghazzali Centre for Islamic Sciences and Human Development founder and president, Imam Afroz Ali, appeared on the ABC’s 7:30 program in October, condemning female genital mutilation and saying he had been told by community members of its occurrence in Australia.
And this comes as a surprise?

Circumcision is concentrated in particular in rural and remote areas of the island of Java. So far campaigns by activists who denounce the danger of infection and the violence inherent in the practice to no avail. The debate within the Muslim world, on compulsory nature (or non) of the rite. A civil battle, supported by more than 400 NGOs.
Jakarta (AsiaNews) – In rural areas and more remote areas of Indonesia, particularly the island of Java, female circumcision is still a widespread traditional practice. Although it is not a rule set in a rigid manner by the precepts of Islam, it resists in the most populous Muslim country in the world thanks to the favorable opinion of a large part of society, due to the more extreme and integral fringe. Over the years, activists and politicians have launched campaigns and appeals in an attempt to eradicate the popular custom, which puts the physical health of girls at risk. However, efforts to stem the “tetesan” – as it is called in the country – have so far been a vain war fought on “two different fronts”, at a governmental level and on a purely religious level.
Renowned experts of Islamic law in Indonesia, interviewed by AsiaNews, stigmatize the practice of female circumcision as “damaging”, even if it continues the comparison – which in many cases results in open clashes – between the fuqaha extremists and moderate Muslims leaders. With the first in favor of mutilation, while the latter engaged in campaigns to put an end to the phenomenon.
The the Muslim intellectual Sumanto Al Qurtuby says the faction that supports tetesan is linked to the Salafi and Wahhabi community, which together with other fundamentalist groups are concentrated in Bandung and Aceh. They believe that circumcision is “morally” encouraged by Sharia, or Islamic law, and reiterated in the hadith, in anecdotes related to the life of the Prophet Muhammad. However, the expert adds, while the practice is “suggested” it is not “mandatory” and there are no moral foundations of Islamic law that state it should be perpetrated. There are in fact six different drafts of the hadith – better known as “Kutub as-Sittah” – and only one of these “calls for” the spread of female circumcision.
