Migrant landings down 140,000, 1 bn saved – ISPI
1.9 bn will be saved if the trend continues
(ANSA) – Milan, September 18 – Migrant landings are almost 140,000 down this year leading to savings of one billion euros for the Italian State, the CESVI and ISPI institutes said in a new report Tuesday.
If the trend continues over the coming years, an average 1.9 billion euros will be saved, said the report titled Migrants: The Challenge of Integration.
The estimates were based on an average daily per capita cost of 35.9 euros for each migrant.
