Up to 76 girls among the 111 feared kidnapped in the latest Boko Haram school raid have been rescued by Nigerian military, but fears remain for those still missing.
The bodies of two others were also recovered in the operation while a number of girls are still missing after the attack on the village of Dapchi in the northeastern state of Yobe, a local official said.
Militants stormed the Government Girls Science Secondary School on Monday evening. But a number of the girls were found in a broken down vehicle which the terrorists apparently abandoned in panic while they were being chased, a military source revealed.
The jihadists gained worldwide notoriety in April 2014 when they abducted 276 girls from their school in Chibok, in neighbouring Borno state.
