Austria Fighting Back

Austria: The OeVP set to win snap election……..

So the opposite of this if Far-Left themes, correct..?

Pushing far-right themes, he wants to cut benefits for all foreigners and shut Islamic kindergartens. Kurz and Strache also see eye-to-eye on lowering taxes, slashing red tape and keeping the EU more out of national affairs.

I’m well known for being against the traditional Left-Right political spectrum, favoring Ronald Reagan’s understanding:

“You and I are told we must choose between a left or right, but I suggest there is no such thing as a left or right. There is only an up or down. Up to man’s age-old dream – the maximum of individual freedom consistent with law and order – or down to the ant heap of totalitarianism.”[

All that said, I hope for another upsetting of the European political apple cart with a win by this man and his party, holding no grand illusions that he’s a Jeffersonian democrat or small ‘r’ Republican. European ruling elites need to know that they can only crap over the citizenry for so long before they’ve had enough.

Austria set to elect youngest EU leader in move to the right

Sebastian Kurz has campaigned on a platform of being tough on migrants and easy on taxes

Voting is under way in Austria in a snap election tipped to see conservative Sebastian Kurz, 31, become the European Union’s youngest leader and form an alliance with the far right.

A rightward shift in the wealthy EU member of 8.75 million people would be a fresh headache for Brussels, as it already struggles with Britain’s decision to leave and the rise of nationalists in Germany, Hungary, Poland and elsewhere.

But all signs indicate Austrians want to swap the gridlocked centrist rule for a more hardline government for the first time in a decade.
