Finland: Prosecutor General alarmed by growing hate speech: “Driving victims into a corner”…….

Well if so called ”hate speech” supposedly leads to radicalism and terrorism, then why are you labeling people as ‘racists and bigots’ whose sole concern is to secure Finnish liberal pluralist society?

Funny how we’re led to believe that the smearing and demonization of Muslims supposedly (and very easily) leads to their ”radicalization and terrorist” activity, but they (politicians, bureaucrats, media and academia) can do just that with those who warn about Islamization and mass immigration of unassimilable people. They never temper their rhetoric towards them, see how that works?

Here’s some words of wisdom to these know nothing bureaucrats and government officials. If you are importing people who can, and will become ‘radicalized and then terrorize’ because of supposed tough language thrown at them, then maybe, just maybe these are people not worth importing into your country.

“We have many social grievances and we have to be able to speak openly about them and use strong language, if necessary, but it is unacceptable for someone to threaten, slander or insult a certain segment of society, and in this way, offend people’s human dignity,” she said.

Toiviainen says that in her opinion, the most offensive racist crimes that take place online are those in which a person’s comments incite towards ethnic or racial hatred or breach the sanctity of religion.

“Incitement crimes always have a racist motive behind them that seeks to offend someone’s human dignity,” she said in the interview.

Get that, an ‘insult’ is enough to get the big arm of government around your neck, never mind the fact that they’re insulting people with their labeling of them as, racists and bigots, and basically as scum of the earth. No, they’re just supposed to suck it up and ”get their minds right”. I have no sympathy for racists as well, (it’s not the color of the ears that matters, but the thinking that goes on between them) but some of their claims has a certain legitimacy, such as the government not having the right to determine how society should be due to outside international pressure, but the civil society itself. That they too have legitimate gripes and concerns, and if properly addressed, will agree to disagree on other areas if their main concerns are taken seriously.

NOTE: Funny how it is that they’re never concerned about radicalizing these folks, it’s just straight to the hoosegow with them.

Finland’s Prosecutor General Raija Toiviainen says it is clear that racist statements breed bitterness and lead to increased radicalisation and terrorism.

Finland’s Acting Prosecutor General Raija Toiviainen is concerned about rising levels of hate speech in Finland. She says targeted racist attacks on certain societal groups are an acute worry.

“A person who feels marginalised can easily become bitter, making them a perfect target for recruiters from violent extremist groups. Nothing good can come of this,” she said in an Yle interview Saturday morning.

Finland’s Constitution guarantees freedom of speech to everyone. Yet Toiviainen believes firmly that even freedom of speech has its limits. Hate speech that is an assault on human dignity should not be afforded freedom of speech’s protections.

Tackling social media hate speech

The prosecution of crimes committed in the media is one of the responsibilities of Finland’s Office of the Prosecutor General. These days the media also includes social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, blogs and chat sites.

Ostracised people are easily radicalised

Prosecutor General Toiviainen says that racist hate speech cuts off its victims from the rest of society.

“Racism’s targets are driven into a corner, where it is easy to become bitter. This creates the perfect breeding ground for organised crime or even terrorism… People who have been chased to the fringes of our society are easy to manipulate and cajole into extremist groups. Do people that spread racist hate speech realize the effects of what they are doing?” she wonders.

Raija Toiviainen has served as the Acting Prosecutor General since September 2017, when her predecessor Matti Nissinen was charged with official misconduct and suspended from his post. Nissinen was suspected of nepotism for channelling training work to his brother’s company over an eight-year period, a charge he denied.

There’s No Common Cultural Legacy For The Alt-Right

Still, is there something to it? Is there a common heritage that will cover El Greco and Hume and Dostoyevsky? Is there one that can include the Jacobites and the Jacobins? There is, but it is not racial, and white supremacists reject it because it rejects them. The unifying heritage of Europe is religious and philosophical. It is Jerusalem and Athens, in one famous formulation. Christian religion and Greek philosophy, filtered through Roman law and culture, are the foundation of European culture. The tensions, agreements, developments and settlements between these have shaped the Western world, and these roots of Western civilization are not congenial to white supremacy.

Christianity is universal in its message and Jewish in its origins. For centuries after its founding, Christianity’s center was the Mediterranean world, including Asia Minor and North Africa. Christianity has never been defined by race, and locally-grown racist heresies are only sustainable among those ignorant of Christianity’s teachings, origins and history.

Greek philosophy is likewise ill-suited to serve as a basis for white identity. It is either too universal (addressing the human condition in general) or too local—none of us live as citizens of an ancient Greek polis. Later philosophical developments in Europe, such as the philosophies of the Enlightenment, likewise tend to be too universal for white supremacists seeking a tribal identity. As for the scientific revolution that developed within Western culture (albeit with much borrowed from outside Europe), math doesn’t care what color someone is.

War is being waged against Western culture from within which is in essence a war against Christianity and its moral origins in the Hebrew Bible. By attacking these Biblical foundations in the name of reason and human rights, the culture warriors of secularism are sawing off the branch on which they sit. The only way to defend Western civilisation is to reaffirm and restore its Biblical foundations. We are living in an era which extols reason, science and human rights. These are said to be essential for progress, a civilised society and the betterment of humanity. Religion is said to be their antithesis, the source instead of superstitious mumbo-jumbo, oppression and backward-thinking.

Some of this hostility is being driven by the perceived threat from Islamic terrorism and the Islamisation of Western culture. However, this animus against religion has far deeper roots and can be traced back to what is considered the birthplace of Western reason, the 18th-century Enlightenment.

Actually, it goes back specifically to the French Enlightenment. In England and Scotland, the Enlightenment developed reason and political liberty within the framework of Biblical belief. In France, by contrast, anti-clericalism morphed into fundamental hostility to Christianity and to religion itself.

“Ecrasez l’infame,” said Voltaire (crush infamy) — the infamy to which he referred being not just the Church but Christianity, which he wanted to replace with the religion of reason, virtue and liberty, “drawn from the bosom of nature”.

Perfecting society

But this Enlightenment did not remove religion so much as pervert it. It took millenarian fantasies, the idea that the perfection of the world was at hand, and it secularised them. Instead of God producing heaven on earth, it would be mankind which would bring that about. Reason would create the perfect society and “progress” was the process by which utopia would be attained.
