Man wearing explosives belt shot dead west of Barcelona

A man wearing a possible explosives belt has been shot dead in the Subirats area to the west of the Spanish city of Barcelona, local media report. It is believed that the man could be the fugitive from last week’s attack.
The incident began just after 4 p.m. local time on Monday when Catalonia police were called to reports of a suspicious person in the Subirats municipality in Alt Penedès, which is located to the west of Barcelona.
Spanish radio network Cadena SER reported that a man who was wearing what may have been an explosives belt was shot dead by police officers. Police believe that the man, who was shouting “Allahu Akbar,” could be the fugitive from last week’s attack in Barcelona.
