Manchester bomber Salman Abedi’s brother ‘plotted fresh bomb attack to kill UN envoy’
THE brother of twisted Manchester bomber Salman Abedi was allegedly involved in a jihadi plot to assassinate a UN envoy in Libya, according to reports.
Hashim Abedi, 20, was believed to be part of a terror cell in Tripoli thought to be in the late stages of building an explosive device.
Authorities believe Abedi’s group was targeting the Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Martin Kobler.
Hashim was arrested on Tuesday night at his family home in the Libyan capital on suspicion of links to terror group Islamic State, with his father Ramadan also being held.
Now top MI6 officers are believed to be cooperating with Libyan special forces to extract information about Salman’s UK terror network.
