FOREIGN. US to ban travelers from ten different airports in the Middle East and Africa from bringing computers on the plane. The ban applies to countries with predominantly Muslim populations.
It is the US Security Department of Homeland Security that determined air travelers heading to the United States are not allowed to bring technology bigger than a smartphone in their hand luggage, writes IDG.se.
Major technology, such as laptops and tablets, must be checked in as regular baggage.
The ban applies ten airports in the Middle East and Africa, including two airports in Saudi Arabia, one in Egypt and one in Turkey. All affected countries are Muslim.
