One wishes that they do shut their traps before they engage their brains, but that would be asking too much…..
Minister of Foreign Affairs Timo Soini and Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen took to social media to criticise US president Donald Trump’s travel ban barring citizens of seven predominantly Muslim nations – Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Somalia, Sudan and Libya – entry into the US.
Minister Mykkänen said on Twitter that Finland and the EU will not and must not accept discrimination against refugees based on their religion ”in any circumstances”.
Foreign Minister Soini commented on the Foreign Ministry’s Twitter page how it is unfair the travel ban is. Soini writes how people should be treated as individuals, and not punished for coming from a certain country.
An estimated 11,000 Finns with dual citizenships would be affected by the new travel ban. National airline Finnair announced that Finnish dual citizens will be able to board flights to the United States – if they have permanent residency in the US or if they have their Finnish travel documents in order.
