  1. They can’t and shouldn’t. ESL English as a Second Language (survival English)has to be done here, by people trained for it. Simple sentence structure, present, past and future tense, etc. What is the educational level and culture of the students? Mine came from a country where whole families were executed.We had field trips: tour of the State Capital and walk right into the governor’s office: government won’t do that to you here. At the end of the day, I learned that it was more difficult than I thought to be a teacher!…….

    1. No one is demanding skills that compare to a native speaker, but you learn on your own, just like I learned Finnish on my own. period.
