Let’s just take this to it’s natural conclusion here, stripping off all the political correctness and knee-jerk emotionalism usually attached to such situations.
Look how easy it is for the Daily Mail journalist and gatekeeper (editor) to fall into the trap of depicting this woman as the victim, and that it’s racism involved in the man’s opinion about not wanting to sit next to a person who wears the symbol of Islamic supremacy. The hijab just happens to be exactly one of those open symbols of the sharia, a totalitarian ideology/system of jurisprudence that is against everything we hold dear in our liberal democracies.
We have to fight back against the false dichotomy of either being a racist for rejecting the hijab (and other symbols of Islamic supremacist regalia), or being a good citizen if you accept it, or at least keeping your mouth shut about it entirely.
Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain reveals a passenger REFUSED to sit next to her on the train saying: ‘I ain’t sitting near a Muslim’
The baker, raised by Bangladeshi parents in Luton, said a man told her he would not sit beside her because she is a Muslim. Hussain, 31, has previously said she has to live with racist abuse as ‘part of my life’. Last night, the mother-of-three tweeted: ‘A man refused to sit next to me on the train today “I ain’t sitting near a Muslim” he said. His ignorance is his own ruin.’ Hussain, who won the 2015 series, said in August that she was ‘astounded’ to be credited with having a positive impact on race relations in the UK because she still suffers anti-Islamic abuse.
NOTE: Personally I have nothing against the woman, and I believe that she has every right to wear what she wants (except the niqab/burka due to security reasons), it’s just that we have a right to open our mouths about it as well. Same goes for morons sporting swastikas, sickle and hammers and KKK symbols.
