Kemijärvi’s darkness and silence were too much to Muhammad, and he returned to Baghdad despite security threats.

 

  • Iltalehti met in November a number of asylum-seekersin in Finland returning to Baghdad Iraq.
  • One of the returnees is Mohammed, who still works under threat.
  • As well as that of Mohammed, both Ali and Saba came to Finland on the basis of false information.

He worked prior to his departure for Finland working together with large hospitals in Baghdad. Mohammed says that with paramilitary militant clashing with each other, violence to bystanders appears in the emergency room on a daily basis.

Mohammed went through Europe to Finland. However, the autumnal darkness, quiet and the serious (minded) people in Kemijärvi were too much for the lively Iraqi. He decided after two months to go back to Iraq.

NOTE: This is not the first time Muslims were claiming refugee status in Finland. Years ago during the Bosnia war, hundreds came to Finland, and were completely different from what the Middle East was belching up. Whole families, very grateful families, were not complaining about morning oatmeal, nor shopping about Europe for “the best deal”. They were actually very happy to be accepted in, and did not rape and pillage the countryside. Big difference, those Muslims at least had some kind of Western culture influence being so close to central Europe.
