I’m no establishment fan, but this Bush/Romney campaign operative has a serious point.
Stuart Stevens, who worked on the presidential campaigns of George W. Bush and Mitt Romney, makes an excellent point: The only metric on which Clinton and Trump are tied is on how much time each has until polls close. Trump’s comment means that he’s spent another 24 hours of fewer than 90 days until the election litigating a point that doesn’t seem like it will do much to close the gap between him and his Democratic opponent.
I’ve been saying for a long time now that as a candidate with an immensely weak opposing Democrat, Trump should be mopping her up, but he’s not, he’s barely holding on to purple states and is losing in evey state that usually leans Democrat. He’s going to get clobbered, and his surrogates are feeling it too, hence all the vitriol blaming those of us who are not full throated supporters of Trump, for his upcoming loss (if he fails to start acting loke a real candidate), when the full blame is properly his own.
NOTE: It’s my opinion that the vacuum Obama created by pulling out of Iraq the way he did, led to the rise of Al-Qaida/Islamic State, that’s what he should be saying, and not passing off as “sarcasim” the moment the media gives him a hard time. Pathetic.
Donald Trump has an airtight, sensible excuse for why he said President Obama ‘founded ISIS’
