Liberty GB’S PAUL WESTON ON UK’S ORWELLIAN ANTI-DEMOCRATIC ELECTORAL COMMISSION………

I posted yesterday on Paul’s run in with the EC, which took umbrage with Liberty GB’s promotion  of “Western Civilisation, British Culture and Free Speech”, a description of the values the party stands for in the upcoming elections.

Britain’s Anti-Democratic Electoral Commission

As Paul Weston and Liberty GB recently learned, the British people are not allowed to determine for themselves what is offensive and what isn’t. That job is left to the Electoral Commission, which cleanses ballot papers of offensive words before any voters can see them and be psychologically damaged by them.

The letter from the Electoral Commission described in Mr. Weston’s essay may bedownloaded here (in PDF format).

Britain’s Anti-Democratic Electoral Commission

by Paul Weston

The slow slide into national suicide continues apace in Britain. One particular example of Left lunacy this week applies to my party Liberty GB, which has just been torpedoed amidships by a certifiably demented harpy called Jenny Watson. Unfortunately for us, Ms Watson is without the asylum and within the community — in point of fact, she is ‘chairperson’ for the Electoral Commission and is therefore taken seriously by the powers that be, rather than carted off pronto for a nice soothing injection.

Ms Watson’s Electoral Commission wrote to Liberty GB a couple of days ago in order to make sure we fully understood what rabid, revolting haters we were. The letter [pdf] informed us that since the murder of Batley and Spen MP Jo Cox, politics must now become an altogether kinder and gentler entity, which we were clearly in breach of, courtesy of Liberty GB’s hateful and divisive party description — which was supposed to be on the ballot papers in the upcoming by-election.

Would you like to know what the description said? In terms of bigotry, xenophobia, irrational hatreds, incitement to mass murder or even racial/religious Armageddon it seems quite mild to me, but then again I am a self-confessed racist and baby eater. Anyway, all it said was this:

Liberty GB: Promoting Western Civilisation, British Culture and Free Speech.

Ms Watson’s Electoral Commission considers this description to be “offensive” and it must be removed from the ballot papers. In Britain! In the very cradle of Western civilisation! I’m not really sure what to say about this, other than to question why Ms Watson is not in prison on treason charges or otherwise happily ensconced in a cell with tremendously thick padding on the walls.

One question that desperately needs asking though, is: Who exactly would find the notion of Western civilisation offensive? Apart from Muslims, that is, many of whom despise it. What about British culture? Who in Britain could possibly find that offensive, apart from Muslims again? And free speech? Well, free speech could be used to suggest Islam isn’t really a religion of peace at all, and might be better described as a supremacist ideology of total war… which again, is not really something the Muslims would like to hear stated by beardless, uppity infidels.

So the Electoral Commission is proscribing words, just as George Orwell predicted in his dystopian novel 1984. The Electoral Commission is telling political parties they cannot use certain words if those words are frowned upon by the current ruling political elite! How can this possibly be happening in what we like to think of as democratic Britain?

The beneficiaries of this totalitarian behaviour are foreign Muslims, and the victims are both democracy and native Brits. Needless to say, this is not a good situation. Our democracy wasn’t handed to us on a plate without historical sacrifice. Our graveyards are littered with the tombs of soldiers who gave their lives for our democratic rights — and these rights are now being stripped away by the very people who have been entrusted with our democracy!

Ms Watson has form, of course. She is part of the hard-Left’s Long March through the Institutions which is now more of an infestation than a march. These crazily destructive people are everywhere today. Ms Watson was in charge of the Electoral Commission in 2010 and did nothing to clean up its act, even after Baroness Warsi claimed Muslim electoral fraud had cost the Conservative party a majority government.

One prominent judge was so appalled by the levels of Muslim fraud he compared Britain to a banana republic, something which Ms Watson also chose to ignore because in this particular banana republic of Britain, the fraudulent votes were going to the party of her choice — the Labour Party.

Ms Watson is married to Labourite Andrew Puddephatt, a former general-secretary of Shami Chakrabarti’s so-called civil rights group Liberty (which is not to be confused with the altogether far more wholesome Liberty GB!) When I use the term civil rights in this context, please understand it really isn’t about civil rights at all because left-liberalLiberty would never represent the civil rights of Tommy Robinson, for example. The people trying to kill him are a different story though! They would definitely attract the friendly attention of Liberty, but not Tommy. Make of that what you will.

The amusingly-named Andrew Puddephatt once controlled the loony left Hackney Council, before upping sticks and entering the financially remunerative world of left-wing Quangos. He is currently the executive chair of Global Partners Digital, where somewhat less amusingly he is described thus: “Andrew is a recognised international expert on freedom of expression policy…”

Like his ghastly wife, one imagines Mr Puddingfat has expert reservations on some aspects of freedom of expression — namely when he doesn’t like the politics he is hearing or reading. Trigger words for him might just be Western civilisation, free speech, British culture, etc. You get the picture. These wicked people are so dangerous. And just like her Leftist husband, Ms Watson’s career history is one long embittered left-wing rage disguised as questionable virtue. She has chaired the Equal Opportunities Commission, the Fawcett Society (gender grievance, man hatred, wymyn’s rights) and was also involved with Shami’s sham human rights organisation Liberty.

Ms Watson’s latest claim to fame concerns the wonderful, decent, wise and moral Charles Moore, ex-editor of the Daily Telegraph. Mr Moore owns two houses, one in town, and one in the country. Finding himself with two polling cards for the EU Referendum, he voted in one area and spoiled his vote in the other. He did this to draw attention to the fact that a less honest person could have voted twice without having to provide identification. He then wrote an article about this for the Spectator, which can be read here. In fact, it really should be read, and I urge you to do so.

Ms Watson, or Mrs Puddingfat to use her marital title, didn’t like this at all. But rather than pause to consider the merits of voter ID, she instead reported Mr Moore to the Metropolitan Police. This seems a tad extreme to some, especially when one considers how shameful it is that murderously undemocratic countries such as Sierra Leone and Zimbabwe now laugh at our democratic deficit in Britain.

After the massive Muslim fraud in the 2010 general election, one election monitor from Sierra Leone commented: ‘Your system is a recipe for corruption; it was a massive shock when I saw you didn’t need any identification to vote… In this respect, our own system is more secure than yours.’

Still, never mind, hey, Mrs Puddingfat! It doesn’t matter to you in the slightest that we are mocked by such people. And it doesn’t bother you in the slightest that the Electoral Commission, established to oversee democracy in Britain, now deems Western civilisation, British culture and free speech to be offensive.

Earlier this year, Eric Pickles published a report on Muslim electoral fraud. Some of his comments are as follows: “politically correct sensibilities meant a blind eye was too often turned to voting irregularities in Pakistani or Bangladeshi communities in particular.”… “there were concerns that influence and intimidation within households may not be reported, and that state institutions had turned a blind eye to such behaviour because of ‘politically correct’ over-sensitivities about ethnicity and religion.”

I sometimes wonder if democracy and peace can be maintained when our democratic process is so terminally diseased. We know exactly why the Electoral Commission ‘chairperson’ Mrs Puddingfat is relaxed about Islamic electoral fraud (it benefits her political party), just as we know why she holds a hatred for Western civilisation, democracy and my political party.

But when the actions of those entrusted with our democratic process seek to reward the criminal behaviour of one political entity just because they are in tune with their own private political ideology, whilst deliberately criminalising another political entity simply because they disapprove of their strand of politics, then we must question whether Britain can still be described as a fully functioning democracy.

I also wonder, from time to time, about anger and rage. How far do these Leftists think they can push us before we snap? How long before the deliberately aggressive, biased, totalitarian and hatefully destructive politics of the hard-Left bring about a right-wing counter-revolution?

Not that long, one can only imagine. If Western civilisation, free speech and British culture are now designated as offensive by our main democratic institution — which is also prepared to turn a blind eye to Muslims undermining our democracy just because they are non-Western, non-white, non-Christian and non-British — then really not very long at all, if I am to be brutally honest.

Paul Weston is a British-based writer who focuses on the damage done to Western Civilisation by the hard left’s ongoing cultural revolution, which seeks to destroy the Christian, capitalist and racial base of the West. He is now one of the leaders of PEGIDA UK, and is also the leader of Liberty GB. His website may be found here, and his political Facebook page here.
