HS poll: Over half of Finnish residents want to stay in the EU
According to a recent poll from the country’s leading daily, Helsingin Sanomat, Finland is pretty much equally divided on the issue of European Union membership. The sample shows that a vote today would find the majority (56 percent) voting in favour of staying in the union, and less than one-third (30 percent) in opposition. Back in 1994 when Finland first voted to join the union, an equal percentage of the electorate voted in favour of membership.
