THIS WEEK IN US DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL POLITICS……….

I was discussing with a few pals online about US election, politics, candidates and geopolitics concerning Syria, Putin etc..

I think it’s high time we abandon the Wilsonian lunacy of “the democracy project”, I believe Cruz understands that. I get nauseous listening to Rubio talk in the same vein as MCain and Graham, I wish he’d stop that. Also, his tactics against Cruz is amazingly old-style GOP, hatchet-like, half truths and outright lying, I don’t like that in any candidate, run on your record, and for some reason if you can’t, don’t run at all. I used to buy into Nathan Sharansky’s “The Case for Democracy”, but no longer, and apparently Bushites still do, (I include Rubio as one of them).

I hate to sound like a broken record, but I cannot get excited about any candidate that’s beholden to the GOP establishment, Rubio is. I also cannot get excited about any candidate that doesn’t truly understand the need to exact US power (you can wipe your rear with the paper inscribed with International law, it doesn’t exist without a healthy US presence). Rand Paul I believe is at the opposite extreme of Rubio, Ted Cruz safely moves within their parameters, (US interests first).

I second (redacted) take on Marco’s ruminations on Syrian ”freedom fighters”, that there aren’t any should give us all pause for concern, as did the French Revolution for Edmund Burke, we should back away from supporting any side, let Putin do whatever until a Republican is in office then realign the chess board to reduce his gains. Putin is doing whatever he can from a Russian perspective (that’s fine, all nations do), but it’s not our perspective or best interests, and he’ll only reduce the shared enemy to a point that it’s not a threat to Russian interests, not the West’s, he needs them to keep us off balance.
