Enough is enough.
It’s high time the sane get motivated and push back against these regressive throwbacks.
CRYBULLIES GO TALIBAN: U OF KENTUCKY AGREES TO CENSOR HISTORICAL FRESCO
“I paint what I paint, I paint what I see”
The left whined for years about Ashcroft draping a statue during press conferences. Now it’s the left’s crybullies that are covering up art because they claim it’s offensive.
After meeting with around two dozen (black) students, University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto has decided to “cover a campus mural from 1934 that shows scenes from state history, including black workers in a tobacco field and a Native American with a tomahawk.”
Capilouto says he’ll have the Memorial Hall fresco shrouded until a more permanent solution is found. The mural was painted directly into the plaster, making its removal difficult. He says an explanation of the cover will be placed nearby.
The Taliban or ISIS solutions are pretty permanent. And that’s where we’re headed. If the mural can’t be displayed as it is, then it has to be destroyed one way or another.
The mural is one of the few frescos of its size in the country. It was the work of Ann Rice O’Hanlon and her husband Dick O’Hanlon, who did the plastering, for FDR’s WPA. Black people were depicted in it as a comment against racism.
So of course the crybullies have to destroy an anti-racist mural because the revolution eats its own children. Or in this case parents.
But the irony only deepens.
