GITMO Jihadis

LAST UK JIHADI ON HIS WAY TO BRITAIN FROM GITMO, MOONBATS HAIL HIS RELEASE…….

You can have the POS, and don’t blame the U.S. when he picks up from where he left off when American soldiers got ahold of him.

Pamela Geller:

The think tank, founded by a group of influential foreign policy analysts, has argued that the US dossier, dating back to November 2007, raised serious questions over Aamer’s insistence of innocence. Mr Simcox said: “The US government has clearly had a multitude of good reasons to detain Shaker Aamer. His connections to al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden and other jihadists are well established, and the charities that Aamer said he worked for are known to be al-Qaeda support groups.

“Aamer’s formidable reputation among the other detainees at Guantanamo Bay shows that he remains highly influential. There is far more to Aamer than the benign image his supporters portray.”

SHAKER AAMER1

NOTE: A clue to the clueless, jihadis picked up on the battlefield are not regular soldiers, nor regular criminals, they’re unlawful combatants and are treated in a different manner. Even if the Left wanted to treat them as bona fide soldiers under the Geneva Convention, that still would mean detention without trial and for an indefinite period.

Father-of-four Shaker Aamer, 46, the last British resident in Guantanamo Bay, has been released from the notorious prison in Cuba

The last British prisoner in Guantanamo Bay has been released, it was confirmed today.

Father-of-four Shaker Aamer had been detained at the US military jail in Cuba since 2002 without trial.

He was cleared for release at the end of last month, but Mr Aamer’s wife Zin and four children – one of whom he has never met – have been waiting for his return.

His release was confirmed by Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond this morning.

Andy Worthington, co-director of the We Stand With Shaker campaign, said he had informed by Mr Aamer’s lawyer that he is due to return to the UK today.

He said: ‘We’re delighted to hear that his long and unacceptable ordeal has come to an end.

‘We hope he won’t be detained by the British authorities on his return and gets the psychological and medical care that he needs to be able to resume his life with his family in London.’

Other reports suggested he was already on a flight back home.

Human rights charity Reprieve wrote on Twitter: ‘Looks like a plane has left Guantanamo Bay, bound for London.’

But a spokesman for Reprieve said it had no confirmation of Mr Aamer’s release and it would not receive advance warning.

Mr Aamer, 46, says he was working as a charity worker in Afghanistan when he was kidnapped and handed over to US forces in 2001.

  1. Of course Aamer’s supporters claim that he was only in Afghanistan in 2001 because he was carrying out ‘voluntary work for an Islamic charity.’ Another case of someone just being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Funnily enough Shaker Aamer is an old friend of Moazzam Begg. Which is interesting not least because at Gitmo, Begg himself identified Aamer as a ‘recruiter for al-Qaeda’. He said that Aamer had fought in Bosnia and had been a member of the jihadist group run by Abu Zubair al-Haili (a senior al-Qaeda operative from Saudi Arabia) and had among other things spent ’30 days training on the AK-47 and rocket propelled grenades’. Seven separate sources at Guantanamo also described Aamer’s connections to al-Qaeda.
