Controversial anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders has been shouted down during a speech where he said Australia needs to stop ‘Islamisation’.

Mr Wilders was speaking as part of the launch of the Australian Liberty Alliance – a far-right political party he inspired – and told supporters in Perth, gathered at the Western Australia parliament, he wants ‘Australia to stay Australian’.

However, anti-racism protesters fought back against Mr Wilders appearance, chanting: ‘Say it loud, say it clear, racism’s not welcome here.’

At one stage an elderly protester who relied on a cane to walk tried to leave, only for the far-right politician’s security to forcibly stop him. The act prompted other activists and senior members of the state opposition to shout at the guards.

‘Let the guy up the stairs,’ Labor MP Margaret Quirk shouted.
