SWEDISH OFFICIALS DENY PAYING REFUGEES TO CROSS INTO FINLAND…….

With Swedish (results driven) authorities not being the most trustworthy of sources.

”It is hard to believe it is pure coincidence that, just as Sweden’s asylum reception network is struggling under the numbers of arrivals, and at a time when Sweden has repeatedly demanded other European countries take larger “responsibility”, that people arriving in Sweden should simply decide by chance to carry on travelling into Finland,

Swedes rubbish Halla-aho claim of refugees being paid to cross into Finland

Anti-immigration MEP asserts that the majority of asylum seekers in Finland are sent here by Swedish officials, insisting that it is hard to believe otherwise. A spokesman for Sweden’s immigration authority described the claim as “odd and entirely incorrect”.

Sweden’s immigration service has expressed bafflement at a claim by the Finns Party MEP Jussi Halla-aho that the country is secretly paying for asylum seekers to cross the border into Finland.

45,000 people claiming refugee status have arrived in Sweden so far this year.

In a Facebook post last week, the long-standing opponent of immigration wrote: ”The majority of asylum seekers come to Finland via Sweden, without doubt as a result of encouragement and even payment from Swedish officials.”

Entirely incorrect

A spokesman for Sweden’s immigration authority, Fredrik Bengtsson, responded to Halla-aho’s remarks in an interview with the Finnish-language station SR Sisuradio.

”That is an extremely odd and entirely incorrect claim. What would the Swedish authorities have to gain by paying for the costs of travel to Finland?” Bengtsson said.

”The fact that higher numbers of asylum seekers are arriving in Finland than before is the result of the global refugee situation, and nothing else,” he added. “More migrants are coming to Europe than ever before.”

Hard to believe otherwise

In an email to SR Sisuradio, Halla-aho later insisted that his claim must be true.

”It is hard to believe it is pure coincidence that, just as Sweden’s asylum reception network is struggling under the numbers of arrivals, and at a time when Sweden has repeatedly demanded other European countries take larger “responsibility”, that people arriving in Sweden should simply decide by chance to carry on travelling into Finland,” he insisted.

Finland’s Interior Ministry estimates that 15,000 asylum seekers will come to the country this year.
