Finland US US Ambassadors

NEW U.S. AMBASSADOR TO FINLAND, A 500 000 DOLLAR DONOR TO OBAMA CAMPAIGN IN 2012…….

Disgusting how these ambassadorships are dealt out to the highest campaign donor, regardless of which side of the aisle is doing it.

Good riddance to this hack:

NOTE: Bruce Oreck, 500 000 Obama donor and greens merchant, developed a crap load of contacts here in Finland to exploit in the business world in the murky shadows of crony welfare corporatism.

US Senate confirms new ambassador to Finland

The US Senate confirmed on Wednesday the appointment of Charles C. Adams, Jr. to become the country’s next ambassador to Finland. President Barack Obama named Adams, an attorney and major Obama fundraiser, for the post last year.

Adams has worked as an attorney for more than 30 years, and was the former co-chair of the campaign group Americans Abroad for Obama.

In 2008 Adams helped raise more than $50,000 US for the Obama campaign, and played a significant role in raising more than half a million dollars during Obama’s re-election campaign in 2012.

According to the US political website allgov.com, Adams’ home in Switzerland overlooks Lake Geneva, where he “hosted lavish fundraisers featuring George Clooney to benefit Obama’s presidential campaigns.”

Adams has also worked for international law firms in Geneva since 1993, and has worked at the law firm Akin Gump since 2010.

Allgov.com reports that, at his law practices, Adams worked to arbitrate cases involving engineering and construction; oil and gas; intellectual property; insurance and reinsurance; bilateral investment treaties; and maritime, aeronautics and aerospace projects and contracts.

Adams: “A promising step…”

Adams succeeds US Ambassador Bruce Oreck, who has served as the American ambassador since 2009.

In an interview with the newspaper Helsingin Sanomat published on Thursday, Adams said he is looking forward to getting to work in Finland.

“My family and I look forward to my role in Finland,” Adams said.

“This is a particularly important and promising step in terms of our relations with the United States and Finland, and I impatiently look forward to get to work,” he told the paper.

According to HS, Adams new post in Helsinki begins in mid-July.
