FINNISH SOCIAL DEMOCRATS HAVE TO SELL OFF OFFICE SPACE IN WAKE OF ELECTORAL LOSS…….

The (rhetorical) question remains, why in the world are political parties being funded (in part) by the state if the first place?

It’s all about maintaining the status quo, like the big media here as well, they too receive state subsidies. There’s no real need for being truly attentive to the populace, not when you receive largesse from the public trough. So the SDP goes through a ”rough patch” for a bit, they’ll be back, (they’re still getting subsidies, albeit at reduced levels than what they’re usually used to) with hat in hand for more.

The Social Democrat Party is to sell its offices as a cost-cutting measure. The party is also cutting support for its print newspaper after a drop in electoral support caused a reduction in state funding. More here.
