Election confusion at Helsinki’s Itäkeskus: Center party campaigners were evicted from Tallinn Square, the True Finns were allowed to stay
Itis shopping center requires a permit for campaigning in advance

A short bickering in Tallinn Square in E.Helsinki occurred on Tuesday, when Itis shopping center security evicted Abdirahim Hussein’s (Center party) supporters from campaigning in the area. At the same time, in the square base, The Finns were campaigning from their own stand.
The shopping center Director Kirsi Feirikki says he heard the case. According to him, there is nothing strange in the incident. Campaigning requires a permit from the shopping center, The Finns party had one, Hussein’s supporters do not.
“Last fall, we agreed with the representatives of political parties on common rules of the game. Behind the scenes is the pursuit of political parties to be treated fairly. So that no single party, for example, can afford to always have the best seats,” Feirikki says.
According to Feirik the Tallinn Square fits everyone, but there must be permission. The time to apply for permission to campaign in the mall ended in February. Hussein supporters, therefore, missed out.
