Sanaa, Yemen (CNN)Oversized military trucks painted in desert beige hauled tanks in the same camouflage color down a dark highway late Saturday past glowing billboards in the Saudi Arabian town of Jazan.

With the border with Yemen little more than 20 miles away, the trucks captured on a video distributed by the news agency Reuters also carried a message: Suggestions of a ground incursion into Yemen, which is in the throws of a Houthi rebel uprising, may be more than just talk.

Saudi Arabia and Egypt have both spoken about the possibility of putting boots on the ground before. And on Saturday, Yemeni Foreign Minister Riyadh Yaseen said he expected coalition troops to be in Yemen within days.

  1. Get the hell out of the way and let the Sunis and Shias kill each other.

Put American forces on a defensive footing only.

If we are lucky the Saudi/Sunis will attack the Iranian/Shia nuclear processing sites. That would most likely cause the Iranians to attack the Saudi oil infrastructure.

Too bad for world oil pricing. It would help the American and Canadian oil industry on the short term. In the mean time the Chinese and others can pay dearly. Too bad.

When the Shias and Sunis quit killing each other, there will be another hudna and the Muslims will re-arm and get ready for another round of war.

The only real long term strategy that has any chance of bringing peace to this part of the world is to force a reformation on Islam. You simply cannot have a “religion” with core texts that encourage devout followers to kill and not have lots of religious fruitcakes willing to kill.

Islamic theology is the problem. Deal with it – or there will be no change.
