UKIP DRASTICALLY OUTPERFORMS LABOUR ACROSS KEY REGIONS

Despite weeks of attacks from the media and political establishment, the UK Independence Party (UKIP) is still in the lead among those certain to vote in next week’s European Elections. A poll by ComRes for the Coalition for Marriage (C4M) puts the party on 34 percent – ten points ahead of Labour – with voters who say they are 100 percent likely to vote next Thursday.

The Liberal Democrats, the most overtly pro-EU of all the parties, still languish in single figures just ahead of the Green Party.

When looking at data for all respondents however, UKIP’s lead disappears, and the party is tied for first place with Labour, suggesting that the results will depend largely on voter turn out. The establishment parties will need to get all their supporters out if they are to do well.

FRENCH EDUCATION CHIEFS ENCOURAGE BOYS TO WEAR SKIRTS TO SCHOOL

Education chiefs in France have caused a stir by inviting boys to wear skirts to school in order to combat sexism and inequality according to the Local. On Friday boys at 27 schools across Nantes in Western France were invited to participate.

The project was called “Ce que soulève la jupe” (lift the skirts), and education bosses claim the plan was suggested by pupils themselves. It was officially sanctioned by education chiefs and was therefore, by extension, approved of by the French Department for Education.

EDL Buck: (Chowdarys mob) WHY MUSLIMS SHOULD NOT INTEGRATE WITH THE KUFFAR

British girls flown to Singapore and Dubai for ‘medicalised’ FGM

British girls are being flown to Dubai and Singapore for a more “medicalised” form of female genital mutilation, experts have claimed.

Professor Hazel Barrett, of Coventry University, said that some people were flying there because they thought the procedure would be done in a more sterile environment than in their African mother countries. She warned that the emphasis on stopping families flying to Africa to cut girls meant those who chose to go elsewhere could be getting away with it.

Professor Barrett said: “The messages are coming through that it’s bad for your health.

“But instead of it being a deterrent they are looking to medicalise it,  for somewhere to go where it’s done more ‘safely’.

Claims: A pupil at Park View School in Birmingham had her phone confiscated by a teacher to see if she was in a relationship with a boy pupil, it is claimed

A teacher at a school embroiled in the alleged ‘Trojan Horse’ scandal broke into a teenage girl’s phone to prove she was in a ‘forbidden relationship with a boy pupil, it is claimed.

The 16-year-old’s mobile was reportedly confiscated by a teacher at Park View School in Birmingham last month, and then taken to a shop where its passcode was unlocked and its contents scrutinised.

Pupils shouldn’t swim during Ramadan because swallowing pool water ‘would break the fast’ claims chair of governors at school accused of teaching Islamic extremism in Trojan Horse scandal

Controversial: Tahir Alam, the chairman of Park View School in Birmingham, said there should be sensitivity during swimming classes because pupils could accidentally 'swallow water.'

A governor who is said to have orchestrated a plot by Muslim extremists to take over a group of schools believes children should not be allowed to swim during Ramadan because it may ‘break their fast’.

Tahir Alam, the chairman of Park View School in Birmingham, said there should be sensitivity during the Islamic holy month because pupils could accidentally ‘swallow water.’

The suspected ringleader of the ‘Trojan Horse’ operation also said Muslim women and girls have an ‘obligation’ to cover their bodies after denying claims he made schoolchildren wear headscarves.

He describes himself as a ‘conservative Muslim’, but says allegations of Islamification and extremist teachings at the schools in Birmingham are false.

Mr Alam drafted a document in 2007 suggesting songs with ant-Islamic lyrics should be banned from schools and dancing ‘discouraged’.

In an interview with BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Mr Alam said no one had praised al-Qaeda in assemblies and refuted rumours that classrooms had been segregated.

He added that schools’ policies on areas such as collective prayer, headscarves and halal meat were ‘within the legal parameters.’

‘No child has to wear a headscarf, nobody has to go to prayer in a compulsory manner … only 5-10 per cent of our children pray during lunchtime,’ he said.

Despite having a 99 per cent Muslim uptake, Mr Alam said Park View has no ‘religious designation’, which means they cannot force any faith practices on students.

Immigrants who move to Britain need to learn to speak English and ‘respect our way of life’, Culture Secretary Sajid Javid claims

Sajid Javid: Mr Javid criticised those who had failed to assimilate into British society

Immigrants who come to live in Britain need to learn to speak English and to ‘respect our way of life’, Culture Secretary Sajid Javid has said.

Mr Javid, the son of Pakistani immigrants and the first Asian Secretary of State, said that people were entitled to expect that immigrants made a contribution to society.

‘People want Britain to have more control over its borders, and I think they are right,’ he told The Sunday Telegraph.

‘People also say, when immigrants do come to Britain, that they should come to work, and make a contribution and that they should also respect our way of life, and I agree with all of that. It means things like trying to learn English.’

His intervention comes at a time when the Conservatives are under intense pressure from the UK Independence Party over the issue of immigration ahead of Thursday’s European elections.

Mr Javid criticised those who had failed to assimilate into British society, despite living in the country for many years.

‘I know people myself, I have met people who have been in Britain for over 50 years and they still can’t speak English,’ he said.

‘I think it’s perfectly reasonable for British people to say, look, if you’re going to settle in Britain and make it your home, you should learn the language of the country and you should respect its laws and its culture.’

Voters will head to the polls in the UK on Thursday to elect the MEP’s for the European parliament.

Elections are also being held in 161 English council areas.

THE DAILY MAIL’S ABOUT-FACE ON FARAGE, ROMANIAN IMMIGRANTS, AND ITS OWN ARTICLES

The Daily Mail performed a curious about-face on Romanian immigrants and criminality, as Nigel Farage came under fire for defending his comments that Britons would be concerned about a family of Romanian immigrants moving in next door to them.

The ‘DMReporter‘ Twitter account has revealed that until Farage’s appearance on LBC radio this week, the Daily Mail reported on numerous occasions about the threat of criminal gangs from the former Soviet country. The evidence raises questions about the Mail’s editorial integrity and an inherent anti-UKIP bias.
