German companies have information after the “Sueddeutsche Zeitung”and the NDR played a major role in building the Syrian poison gas program than previously known.

This is clear from a statement of independent international Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) to the federal government, the newspaper reports (Wednesday).

Accordingly, the OPCW had the Foreign Office sent a list with more than 50 deliveries German companies that are supposed to be gone from 1982 to 1993 in Syria.

2,400 tons of sulfuric acid were supplied

The Bank of England has called in one of the most respected figures in the legal world, Anthony Grabiner QC, to investigate allegations that some of its staff may have been involved in manipulating the £3 trillion-a-day foreign exchange markets for almost 10 years.

Lord Grabiner was hired by News Corp to chair its standards committee in the wake of the phone-hacking scandal. He is thought to demand £3,000 an hour for his time though he is likely to be charging the Bank a lower rate.

Grabiner has been appointed by the Bank’s oversight committee, which was created in 2012 to police the central bank and is composed entirely of non-executive directors of the Bank. The committee last week began a formal investigation into whether any bank staff knew about attempts to rig the foreign exchange markets. Allegations about potential fixing of foreign exchange markets emerged last year. The Bank then began an initial inquiry into whether its officers were aware of or had condoned the potential manipulation of a “fix” which takes place daily at 4pm.

Many Dutch Retailers no Longer Complain to the Police

A TV program of the NCRV broadcaster claimed that one out of three Dutch retailers no longer complains to police about theft or vandalism. This is based on an inquiry among more than 800 retailers. These people believe that complaining to the police is a waste of time and that the police discourage complaints. A spokesman of the organization Detailhandel Nederland, recognizes the signals. He says, “Policemen say that complaints are just filed, or that the perpetrators will not be found anyway.”
