Islam Offended UK

BBC DISCUSSION ON COMEDY AND RELIGION DANCES AROUND THE SUBJECT WITHOUT ZEROING IN ON THE INCONVENIENT TRUTH…….

All ideas and belief systems have to run the gambit of scrutiny, ridicule and dismissiveness.

One key point not mentioned is the fact that most, if not all religions, especially Islam, insult and denigrate other people and their belief systems or lack thereof. So if that’s the case, and it is, then regardless of how much your belief system is dear to you and forms a crucial part of your personal identity (I’ve personally run into socialists exhibiting the same fervour) it doesn’t exclude your belief from being impugned, mocked, maligned and made fun of.

NOTE: That is the argument not addressed in this short discussion on comedy and personal beliefs, what is a personal taboo and therefore out of bounds for the comedian. Kudos to the man at the end who states that ”no one has a right to not be offended”.
