Everyone, and I mean everyone, knows exactly what a politician means when he or she talks about the ‘rot’ of Washington D.C., and that they are ‘happy to be back in America’ after wallowing in the mire of D.C.. Washington politics do not represent the greatness that is the American people, whether they be in Texas or in L.A., that is what Cruz was talking about, and what Matthews knew he was talking about, and chose yet once again to twist his words into meaning something completely else, to agitate his viewers, the remaining few that he has left. Pathetic.
CHRIS MATTHEWS, HOST: It’s a little weird, but is Chicago part of America? Is Philadelphia — my hometown where I’m going to address the National Constitution Center tomorrow — is Philly part of America? Is L.A.? Is San Francisco? Is Austin, Texas? The reason I’m asking this stupid question is because this partisan gunslinger, Ted Cruz, is out there today defining who is and who isn’t an American.
