A Greenie caught helping her greenie-peeps in Greenpeace avoid criminal charges.

Context: ”The former chair of the Green League, Heidi Hautala, has denied giving any kind of instructions to the state-owned icebreaker firm Arctia Shipping to avoid making a criminal complaint over protests by Greenpeace activists. The protesters boarded icebreakers twice last year to demonstrate against Arctia’s involvement with Shell’s plan to drill for oil in Alaska.”

Hautala steps down over Greenpeace furore

Minister for International Development Heidi Hautala announced on Friday that she is resigning from the government.

At a press conference, Hautala said she takes responsibility for the move to block the withdrawal of a planned criminal complaint against Greenpeace by the state-owned firm Arctia Shipping.

However she said that she still approved of the actions of her subordinate, Pekka Timonen, who urged the company’s management not to file the complaint.

  1. Some people can’t handle authority. They turn into mini dictators who think they are above the law. Blocking a criminal charge by Arctia Shipping is serious.
