AP WIRE NEWSPEAK: NO LONGER LABEL PEOPLE FOR WHAT THEY ARE…….

Bat Man is no longer a ‘crime fighter’, just someone who chases people who do bad things!

In other words, there are no longer criminals in jails, but people convicted of criminal activity. No longer should a man convicted of rape or murder be labeled a’rapist or a ‘murderer’, but only as being someone convicted of those crimes. This is just the latest buffoonery in a profession heavily dominated by Leftists.

The AP drops ‘illegal immigrant’

The Associated Press on Tuesday announced it will no longer use the term “illegal immigrant” or “illegal” to describe a person — but did not say which term, if any, should take its place.

The AP Stylebook has been updated to state that it no longer sanctions the use of “illegal” or “illegal immigrant” for a person, senior vice president and executive editor Kathleen Carroll wrote in a blog post. The Stylebook now directs that “illegal” should only be used to describe an action, “such as living in or immigrating to a country illegally,” Carroll noted.

The AP aims to label “behavior” instead of “people,” Carroll wrote, pointing out that “the new section on mental health issues argues for using credibly sourced diagnoses instead of labels. Saying someone was ‘diagnosed with schizophrenia’ instead of schizophrenic, for example.” The AP, she said, is working on “ridding the Stylebook of labels.”

“And that discussion about labeling people, instead of behavior, led us back to ‘illegal immigrant’ again,” she said. “We concluded that to be consistent, we needed to change our guidance. So we have.”

  1. I thought that it was already settled in the leftist MSM that illegal immigrants were really “undocumented workers”.

Note: Not undocumented welfare recipients but workers.

  2. Our television personality Jay Leno has the perfect retort. He calls them, “undocumented democrats”. Very good Jay.

  3. Crypto language games are important to ‘the left’. Without any real power and generally despised by actual workers (not sociology graduates who now ‘work’ in local government ‘jobs’) they can only play ever more silly tricks with what you can and can’t say. It is about control of course: using state power.

Girlfriend? Wife? Husband? Nope: partner. Instituted I think incase you were gay and didn’t want to say so.

But this stupid letter in a left wing rag in England truly made me laugh out loud.

(Incidentally reading the blogs of leftists recently I came across this Assaf bloke. He is an enforcer for his leaders and after one on them was accused of rape by a very young woman – like under 20 – a group of members held a meeting to discuss whether to protest against the other leaders hushing it up and supporting the accused. Assaf turned up and threatened them in an aggressive manner. Sounds like an objectionable person even to his own people if they step out of line.

    Now, try not to laugh.

    Mind your language
Simon Assaf’s article on Syria … was illuminating”

(Strangely he sides with the rebels, just like the British Cabinet. But given his name it must be for local sectarian reasons.)

“However his use of the phrase “unmanned drones” is problematic. Changing how we speak will not get rid of oppression. But that’s not an excuse not to avoid gendered language“.

  4. Why?
The Left’s answer to every problem, re-brand it.
It’s only a problem if you call it a problem. Rename it as a solution then it’s no longer a problem.
Orwell recognized these ‘newspeak’ tactics years ago. He predicted their arrival so we should have been prepared for it. They solve nothing but are purely designed to brainwash – clever pieces of propaganda aimed at throwing yet another veil over our eyes.
I, for one, will continue to call things as I wish. Those who play idle games with semantics are not to be trusted!
