An IDF jeep overturned in the West Bank village of Hirbat Aliya, southwest of Bethlehem on Saturday in the midst of Land Day disturbances.
The jeep appeared to have overturned after striking a roadblock made of rocks, set up by Palestinian.
Soon afterwards, a crowd of some 60 Palestinians gathered near the jeep and hurled rocks at soldiers. They were dispersed with riot dispersal means.
Four soldiers were lightly injured in the incident; two required hospital treatment, and two received on-the-spot medical care.
Riot dispersal gear was the cause of the Mamara incident. The proper response to an ambush is to eliminate the attackers with deadly force, not gas canisters.
