Kudos for the honesty.
YLE journalist, Hannu-Pekka Hallamaa, responsible for the article, had blindly followed the AP wire on the assassination attempt of Lars Hedegaard. The AP, and subsequently YLE, included a mention of Hedegaard’s being fined for an insulting statement, without further mentioning that it was overturned 7-0 by the Danish supreme court.
Seeing that you took the story straight from the AP, As Mark Steyn noted: “the Associated Press can’t even get the basic facts right, reporting that Lars was “fined 5,000 kroner ($1,000) in 2011 for making a series of insulting and degrading statements about Muslims,” but apparently unaware that last year the Danish Supreme Court struck down his conviction 7–0.”
Best regards, KGS

Thank you very much, we do have to rely on news agencies getting their story straight here at Yle. I’ll take that passage down, as it is of little relevance anyway.Hannu Hallamaa
Well he didn’t remove the part about the fine, but he did include the rest of the story:
CORRECTION: 6.2.2013 11:08 Hedegaard’s conviction in 2011 was struck down by the supreme court last year”
