In a YLE piece on the approaching Gaza flotilla ship, Estelle (a.k.a. The Sea Hitler) sailing under the Finnish flag, YLE journalist, David Mawby, takes the reader back to the Mavi Marmara incident, and implies that the IHH jihadists who were waiting for the Israeli soldiers on the ship’s deck, were only “accused of violent behavior” in comparison to the IDF who used ”excessive violence”. The visual record speaks differently though:
Israeli troops bordered the Mavi Marmara using excessive force. Those on board were also accused of violent behaviour.
So I sent him the following message via FB:
Interesting piece you have today on the Estelle ship, one question comes to mind. Why is it that you frame the Israeli response (initially armed with paint guns) to the iron pipes and chains as ”using violence”, and the IHH committee of jihadists waiting from them on deck with those chains and pipes and other weaponry…as just ”being accused of violent behavior” ? See any problem with the usage of language David, that it conveys an entirely different depiction of events?
NOTE: The media so lame it hurts the brain to even think about it.
UPDATE: I forgot to remind everyone of the antisemitism of the co-founders of the FGM movement, which tells you all you need to know about them. IMHO of course.
