IRAN BOASTING THAT IT’LL SEND SHIPS TO SAIL OFF US COAST……..

They better hurry, waiting till after the elections will mean a Romney foot up their arse.

The head of Iran’s navy says the country aims to put its warships in international waters off the U.S. coast “in the next few years.”

The comments Tuesday from Admiral Habibollah Sayyari on state TV are part of Iran’s response to Washington’s beefed up naval presence in the Persian Gulf.

The U.S. Navy’s 5th fleet is based in Bahrain — across the gulf from Iran — and the U.S. plans maritime war games later this month.

Iran has made similar claims in the past that its ships could soon sail into international waters off the U.S. coast.

  1. Iranian Navy warships are mostly what they call “destroyers” and what other navies would call light frigates or coprvettes. In the North Atlantic it’s already the second most active hurricane season on record. If the Iranians can get some ships to the East Coast before the end of November, divers can look forward to some interesting wrecks.

  2. I should imagine that the USN (and the US Coast Guard) would welcome this. Live fire training exercises are quite expensive things to run and not having to factor in the cost of providing their own target drones would be extremely helpful.

So, Admiral Sayyari, I would suspect that their informal response to your offer would be would be along the lines of: “Please do come, Habibollah, your contribution will be most welcome and we can assure you that you won’t even need to bother buying a return ticket.

    Semper Fortis!

  3. Time to widen the Persian Gulf into the Persian Sea.

Ask Japan what happened the last time this “Sleeping Tiger” was awakened.
