IAF kills Hamas operatives in Gaza airstrikeArmy Radio says targets were planning major terrorist attack

At least two Palestinians were killed in an Israeli airstrike Wednesday night in the southern Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources reported.

Hamas sources said three Palestinians were killed, and that they were driving in a car east of the city of Rafah. Palestinian medical sources, however, told Maan News that two men were killed and the third was seriously injured. The Safa News Agency identified the two fatalities as 32-year-old Mohamed Aboul-Enein and 36-year-old Ashraf Mahmoud Saleh, both employees of Hamas’s Interior Ministry’s border patrol unit.

A separate report claimed that one of the victims was a brother of Ahmed Yousef, an advisor to Hamas’ Gaza-based prime minister, Ismail Haniyeh.

Army Radio later reported the military’s claim that the men were senior Hamas operatives who had been planning a large-scale terrorist attack.
