VETTING AXLEROD: ASKED WOMAN IF HER HUSBAND WOULD CONTROL HER VOTE………

The current political buzz happening right now is over Republican candidate for the Missouri senate race, Tod Akin’s, buffoonish rape comment in which he said a female body could prevent her pregnancy resulting from a real rape. Was it sexist? No. Was it based on faulty belief, yes.

But after decades of Democrat sexism from for example Ted Kennedy to BJ Clinton, they have no right to point fingers at the Republicans, who by the way are demanding Akin to step down. I agree, there is just way too much at stake in this election for a senate seat to go to a drone senator for Obama.

David Axelrod asked Diane Silverman, a woman candidate for Alderman, if her husband “would control” her vote. “I doubt Mr. Axelrod asked male candidates… if their wives would control their votes,” she wrote in a 1974 letter to the editor. “Please. Spare us such naked chauvinism and sexism in this campaign.”
