Blasphemy Saudi Arabia



An outrage.

Where is the international outrage? This guy was shipped back to that 7th century oasis of puritanical Islam, Saudi Arabia by the Malaysian authorities thanks to Interpol’s issuing of a warrant for his arrest……………for freaking blasphemy.

I think it’s time for a Tundra Tabloids’ telephone surge, please call the embassy or consulate closest to you and let them know that you are following the case of Kashgari, that you think it’s an outrage that he’s been arrested, and that you are informing your political leaders to bring up his case at every given opportunity. We can’t allow this man to be swept under the carpet.

Saudi national faces prospect of execution for tweeting

“Insulting the Prophet [Mohammed] is considered blasphemous in Islam,” notes, “which is a crime punishable by execution in Saudi Arabia.” Hamza Kashgari, a 23-year-old Saudi blogger, now faces the prospect of execution for tweeting this message on Islam’s Prophet Mohammed’s birthday:

“I have loved things about you and I have hated things about you and there is a lot I don’t understand about you. I will not pray for you.” 

Kashgari was en route to New Zealand when he was detained by Malaysian authorities at the request of Interpol because of the tweet. He was then deported to Saudi Arabia, where he was arrested for blasphemy.

Saudi clerics have declared the 23 year-old to be an apostate, and, as Charles Santiago, DAP’s MP for Klang, notes in Free Malaysia Today, “13,000 people have joined a Facebook page titled ‘The Saudi People Demand the Execution of Hamza Kashgari’.”
