Filipina nurse held for meeting man at mall

Saudi religious police arrest nurse as she was about to leave kingdom

Published Tuesday, January 10, 2012

Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police arrested a Filipina nurse for having what they described as an illegitimate meeting with an Arab man at a shopping mall in the conservative Gulf kingdom.

Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice rushed towards the couple at a café in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah after suspecting they were lovers.

“When he saw them, the man fled…the Commission members arrested the Filipina nurse, who told them the man is her boy friend and that she met him there to say good bye before returning to her home country.”

In its report, Kabar Arabic language daily said the Commission members detained the nurse and mounted a manhunt for her lover.

  1. All of the Muttawas are sick minded, perverted bullies whom because they are all ma fi moch try to exercise some power over weaker individuals to give themselves a sense of esteem. Losers and failures the lot of of them. I welcome a reply from any of them, but doubt they have the courage to respond as (we all in the world know) all bullies are inherent cowards. I happily lived in KSA for 16 years – respect the Kingdom and have many Saudi friends who have the same opinions as myself. Fi a m,an illah.
