FINNISH SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGIST RESEARCHER PROMOTES MIND MANIPULATION TO IMPROVE PERCEPTION OF IMMIGRATION……..

This is as scary as it gets, and she’s rather open about it. Thanks to Vasarahammer for the heads up on this article, who adds this salient observation:

The target, of course, is to make us good Europeans. It reminds me of the attempts to create Homo Sovieticus. And the method of exposing the test subjects to negative images about Finnish history smells like the movie Clockwork Orange and the Ludovico Technique that was used to curb the main character Alex DeLarge’s violent impulses.

A rebuttal of her thesis by historian Markku Jokisipilä, will be translated and published both here and in another post in the next couple of days. Simply stunning. They really do mean to break us. KGS

Xenophobia stopped by showing people their own dark history?

On behalf of: Inari Sakki, social psychologist

An understanding of their own country’s gallant history can shore up xenophobic attitudes. Sharp positions may become tolerant, if people are reminded of the history of disgraces.

This is the assumption on which social psychologist Inari Sakki of the Academy of Finland began her three-year project.

Inari Sakki examines the perceptions of the importance of the popularity of anti-immigration. The study consists of two parts: the researcher as defined by the extreme right-wing rhetoric and empirical research manipulation.

According to Sakki, research in Germany already shows evidence that images of concentration camps evoke feelings of shame and guilt, and influences perceptions of foreigners which become more favorable.

Following Germany’s example Sakki will present the target group with photographs and text clips of suppressed issues in Finnish history.

One such area is of World War II concentration camps in Eastern Karelia.

– There’s nothing unethical in the method, This is not a laboratory experiment, but a form-based test, in which manipulation is involved. It should not cause psychological stress, Sakki says.

According to Sakki the important thing is for manipulation to get people to identify with what they saw. Images need to wake up the idea that the viewer is partly responsible.

– In order for collective emotions occur, subjects will experience a historic event as a collective activity, “we Finns did this.”

Sakki is the first to use manipulation in Finland.

In Belgium manipulation was done by using a dark study of the colonial history of Congo. In Britain, the Germans were studied by describing them with the Nazi period.

Finland’s history is a sensitive matter. Sakki received a lot of angry feedback when the University of Helsinki announced the study. The violent mind can become through manipulation gentle like the protagonist in Stanley Kubrick’s film A Clockwork Orange.

Sakki has become familiar with the references to the film. She emphasizes that the study does not attempt to shock, but to explore the collective memory.

– An experimental manipulation, has not yet begun, nor does it really mean nothing to the brain curves. Collective feelings of guilt and anger are a hot topic in social psychology in the world.

Part of the research on rhetoric is the investigation of the blogs of six Finns parliamentarians. Under investigation are immigration critical signers of the Nuivan election manifesto, Jussi Halla-aho, Olli Immonen, James Hirvisaari, Juho Eerola, Maria Lohela ja Vesa-Matti Saarakkala.

– They are very different types of bloggers. Halla-aho is definitely a master. I wonder why the last Facebook update led to political conflict. There’s a lot more rude blurtings of foreigners.

  1. It appears that the social psychologist Inari Sakki and likeminded professionals within the Academy of Finland are prime subjects for some counter-psychotherapy themselves. For the sake of Finland and greater Scandinavia, these dangerous shrinks need to be deemed unfit for this profession as well unfit for treating society at large .

  2. Looks like one climactic turn is about to be taken by the West.
Does this not remind the ‘hypnosis’ that preceded some of the mass suicides that had happened before?

    Marxism’s logical climax!
Next lessons would be something like
What is true is not true…
What your senses tell you is wrong…
    You should suspend your reason…
What is there, is not there…

No, you are not dying… you are only experiencing the antithesis of life… which is a must for a synthesis.

Once Islam takes over, these Marxists will be the first to be dispatched to hell for their atheism by their ‘wards’. Wonder why this does not make sense to them.

  3. I wonder which dark moments from British history they’ll choose?

    The Agrarian Revolution?
    The Industrial Revolution?
The abolition and suppression of slavery?
    The introduction of democracy?
Our major contribution to the defeat of fascism?

  4. People refer to ‘fascism’ and ‘Nazism’ pretty many times as something despicable.
I, [am not a European] do not understand what exactly is wrong with the ideology.
Is there a definition of what it is? Would be happy to learn more about it.

    1. Totalitarian statism. “Fascism is a religion of the state. It assumes the organic unity of the body politic and longs for a national leader attuned to the will of the people. It is totalitarian in that it views everything as political and holds that any action by the state is justified to achieve the common good. It takes responsibility for all aspects of life, including our health and well-being, and seeks to impose uniformity of thought and action, whether by force or through regulation and social pressure. Everything, including the economy and religion, must be aligned with its objectives. Any rival identity is part of the ‘problem’ and therefore defined as the enemy. I will argue that contemporary American liberalism embodies all of these aspects of fascism.”

      1. [“Fascism is a religion of the state. “]

I guess that is something ok.. why shouldnt one be devoted to one’s ‘nation’?

[“It assumes the organic unity of the body politic and longs for a national leader attuned to the will of the people. “]

Fantastic. In my opinion that would be the ideal organization of any nation…which not many countries in history have had the good fortune of being blessed with.
Afterall, strength derives itself from unity! and any true leader ought to be in tune with the will of the people [truly democratic!] and at the same time be blessed with a ‘revolutionary gnosis’… as to where and how to lead his people.

[“It is totalitarian in that it views everything as political and holds that any action by the state is justified to achieve the common good.”]

Is not everything political afterall? Have not some asocial thinkers confining themselves to idle contemplation change the course of the world’s history which is but a political chronicle? Is not as personal a thing as a contraceptive of critical political importance [both from moral and demographical perspective]? Every scientific discovery is having an impact on the polity. Every speculation can have an impact on the political economy..

When there is an ‘organic unity’ i.e. overwhelming agreement among the peoples, and the leader is only a reflection/expression of the collective will, there is absolute democracy.. and any ‘action by the state’ is only an action of the people… atleast that of the majority.. just like in any other democratic system of governance. Should not a state be run by the will of the majority… can an otherwise system call itself democratic?

[” It takes responsibility for all aspects of life, including our health and well-being, and seeks to impose uniformity of thought and action, whether by force or through regulation and social pressure. “]

This is something that the ‘liberals’ do! 🙂 Why should something be called good when done in England/US and bad when done in Italy/Germany..

[“Everything, including the economy and religion, must be aligned with its objectives. Any rival identity is part of the ‘problem’ and therefore defined as the enemy.”]

This is sheer hipocrisy. Are not everything, including economy and religion shaped by the political organization of a people? Or the other way round? Either way, there cannot be any ‘mismatch’ in the system. Every society organizes it’s sub-systems in such a way as to be in harmony with the super system of it’s political and social organization [or vice versa]. If there are some outside impositions/influences on the community, then there will be some corresponding ‘adjustments’ in the system, or atleast distortions induced which eventually will change the sub-systems till harmony and balance is restored.
In any case, ‘alignment’ is only a logical denouement of any organization.

What I see is that theoretically, there is nothing really contemptible about Fascism. The stigma attached is perhaps only the result of the tons of propaganda heaped on it and hammered into the minds of the people by the media. ‘Fascism’ as they may term it, may be seen at different times and places in history. Why then single out the political organizations of Italy/Germany in early 20th century for the special treatment?

This is very important. The answer to this question can settle a lot of questions and set many a thing in the right perspective.

        1. The only thing that’s settled here is that you’re a dedicated totalitarian, a statist, and therefore someone and/or your organization I hope never rises to power. We’ve had enough of the destructive power of all forms of socialism.

  5. This woman impresses as an academic who having obtained a PhD sat around trying to figure out what to do to justify her academic existence.

She has come up with this pointless research (sic) experiment in the hope that her “findings” will change the negative perception of foreigners by sending everyone on a guilt trip about how bad we have been in the past.

It won’t change anything because the majority of thinking Finns base their attitudes to foreigners on their direct and vicarious experiences.

People come to the inevitable conclusion that wherever Muslims migrate, social problems emerge, and the greater the numbers of Muslims migrating to your community, the greater the social problems that emerge and the more social upheavel that follows.

This “experiment”won’t change anything. It’s a waste of time but will keep this woman busy for a time I suppose.
