FINNISH POLITICS: GREENS’ SINNEMÄKI WANTS TO CONTINUE AS DEAR LEADER…….

Anni Sinnemäki Indicates Wish to Continue as Leader of the Green Party

YLE: Current leader of the Green Party, Anni Sinnemäki, has said that she wishes to continue in her role as party leader.

Heavy losses suffered by the Green party at the recent parliamentary election have led to discussions over who should now lead the party.

The Greens lost five MPs following the election from their previous total of fifteen. Sinnemäki was chosen as party leader in May 2009. The new leader will be chosen in June during the party conference.

A likely contender for the title is Ville Ninnistö who will formally announce his intention to run for party leadership next week. Sinnemäki says that the Greens have lost voters who have defected to other parties both right and left of centre.

  1. Finnish Greens lost 1.2 % units of votes but 33 % of their parliament places.
I can see Tundra Tabloids has second hand knowledge about the politics of the the Finnish Greens.

For example Heidi Hautala is the chair of the Subcommittee on Human Rights of the European Parliament. She is a signatory of the 2010 Declaration on Crimes of Communism as well as a patron of its preceding conference.

Hautala is the chairwoman of the Finnish-Russian Civic Forum, established in 2007 to promote the Finnish-Russian dialogue and strengthen the Russian civil society.

Conclusion: Your picture where You compare Finnish Greens with North Korea is poor propadanda.

    1. They’re all statists. The Greens would like nothing better than to see the whole country dancing to their green policies, sifting through our trash, cutting back on the use of energy and other obtrusive measures against the private individual. Their whole program is an assault on the individual, property rights and the lot. So Pekka, the picture stands.

  2. Clean air, clean water, non-poisonous food, beautiful environment, good living conditions to animals in farms etc. are excellent goals of the Greens. Therefore, why not vote them.

    1. Pekka, I’m not going to get into a pissing match with you over the Greens. Like I said, they’re statists, Leftists with a “green” agenda but it’s all about control, power over the individual, and the worst kind, they’re doing it “for our own good”. No thank you. As Ronald Reagan once said, the most terrifying 9 words in the English language are: “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.”

  3. President Reagan also said at the Berlin Wall on June 12, 1987:
“General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization, come here to this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”

  4. President Reagan had influence on General Secretary Gorbachev, when he decided to withdraw the russian troops from Central Europe and give freedom to people.
Naturally we have to remember the important role of chancellor Kohl in this connection.

    1. Yes, I agree with what he did, he’s a hero of mine, but how does it figure in to the discussion. that’s all I was asking about. But yes I agree with you, of course I do.

  5. When You include nonsense to the discussion I try to soften the discussion to the area (president Reagan) where we can agree.

Regarding to Israel we are on the same side but good friends can sometimes change views.

As a representative of Israel, You have unnecessary to behave too arrogant against Finnish political parties because the majority of them are on the side of Israel.

Have a good spring and summer and thank You for the interesting texts in this blog.

    1. I have no problem discussing anything with you Pekka, none whatsoever. I do not believe however that I am including nonsense in the discussion. I gave you my views on statism. They stand as I delivered them. Most of these parties, Greens included, represent the soft tyranny. I gave my reasons why. In all honesty and in the spirit of fair exchange, you have yet to reassure me why I should allow temporary politicians to micro-manage my life. Ronald Reagan’s words ring true as the day they were first uttered by him. Have a good spring and thanks for your kind words.
