It’s a farce, with the outcome already known far in advance. The N.Koreans are going to be given yet another opportunity to see if there’s a chance in the making, to squeeze out more wonderful aid packages. That’s the game they play, and in return for their vague promises, they’ll tune down the bellicose rhetoric against the South for a time, only to ramp it up again for whatever reason.
The NORKS love these Nobel Prize winners for the international spotlight they give their Stalinist state, the handshakes, the promises given, all that good cheer, and if the US and other EU states bite, again, the NORKS are set to rake in more funding in the form of aid packages and investments etc.
Lets face facts, the NORKS can’t afford to give up on their nuke weapon industry and their war against the South any more than the Syrians can give up on their war with Israel. It’s what gives them a leverage card to hold over the doughy headed poobahs, like Ahtisaari and Carter. So don’t count the Tundra Tabloids getting all excited over the prospect of Ahtisaari and Carter being successful. KGS
