THE SAUDI NOOSE
TSN: Ours is not to question the logic of it all, but to fill ourselves with yet more cunning words of violence from the world’s most intolerant, anti-Semitic and mediocre book ever written, “The Koran”. We’re proud of it.
NOTE: The Koran is the invention of a schizophrenic Bedouin who memorized the words from his imaginary friend, Allah.

Summary Answer:Yes, but only if she doesn’t do as he asks. The beating must cease if the woman complies with her husband’s demands. Beating is also intended to be the last resort of coercing submission, behind verbal abuse and abandonment.
According her testimony in the Hadith, Muhammad, physically struck his favorite wife for leaving the house without his permission. It is not known how he treated his less-favored wives.
Qur’an (4:34) – “Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great.”

Read Quran or you will be lashed
A Saudi judge sentenced two defendants for lashing in public but told them he would pardon them if they memorize parts of the holy Quran, a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Monday.
Judge Ibrahim Al Fakari, known for his “alternative verdicts”, sentenced a Saudi man in the central town of Buraydah for 50 lashes after he was found guilty of beating up his wife, Aljaizirah Arabic language daily said.
He ordered another defendant lashed 150 times in public for hitting another man during an argument, the paper added.
“But the judge, who is known for his alternative verdicts, told the two defendants that they could be pardoned if they read and memorize some parts of the quran…the judge said he issued these verdicts after the plaintiffs dropped their cases and forgave the defendants.”
