A British woman is facing jail for insulting a sex pest on Facebook, the Sun reported.
Emirates 24/7: Businesswoman Amarjit Kaur Dhadli, 44, complained to police that she had been approached for sex on the social networking site by American computer engineer Qasem Ali.
Officers asked her to tempt Ali, 35, into a hotel rendezvous.
He was arrested and admitted he had sent abusive messages.
But then police turned the tables on Dhadli by checking her earlier “chat” with Ali, in which she rejected his advances and suggested he should have sex with his mum.
Now the expat Brit, who is of Indian origin, is due to be charged with sending “curses and insults” on Facebook.
The offence carries a maximum jail term of six months.
It is the first time web jibes have landed users in court in the emirate, where verbal abuse is taken seriously.
