FINNISH STATE BROADCASTER YLE2 ATTACKS SWEDEN DEMOCRATS IN SMEAR-REPORT…….

Thanks to Vlad for grabbing this and uploading the Tundra Tabloids’ translation. I find it incredible that a state TV channel funded by the Finnish taxpayer is spending hard earned tax money in attacking a political party of a neighboring country. Of course they more than likely got help from their counterparts in Sweden. This political environment in which we live, is really retarded, especially in Sweden. KGS

NOTE: I wonder if the Finnish state broadcaster YLE2 violated any rule in making the report?

Swedish Nationalist Group Surges Amid Protests

STOCKHOLM (AP) — Polls in Sweden show a small anti-immigration party is likely to enter Parliament for the first time in elections Sunday, despite attempts by vuvuzela-blowing protesters to disrupt the nationalist group’s campaign rallies.
The Sweden Democrats are warning that lenient immigration policies are threatening the country’s welfare system, and a series of recent surveys shows the party has climbed above the 4 percent threshold necessary to enter to the legislature.
That could create disarray if neither the center-right government nor the left-wing opposition wins a majority in the 349-seat assembly, because neither side wants to rely on the support of the Sweden Democrats.
In the final days of campaigning, both blocs have warned voters against bringing the party into Parliament, saying it represents xenophobic views that don’t belong in a country seen as tolerant and welcoming to refugees.
Jimmie Akesson, the leader of the Sweden Democrats, advocates sharp cuts in immigration and has called Islam the greatest foreign threat to Swedish society since World War II.

  1. I don't think it was a hatchet job. It was a reasonably good report of the party to the Finnish public who probably know very little about Swedish Democrats.

If you know nothing about Swedish politics, there were enough facts for people to see that there is something seriously wrong with Swedish political system.

There were, of course, significant omissions. It is true that the roots of Swedish Democrats in the late 80's are shady. However, they have kicked out the unsavory elements long ago and the current party activists have little to do with the party the way it was in the beginning.

It is possible to say that maybe they should've started a new party instead of taking over an existing party but that is semantics.

What the report failed to mention are:

    – the continuing demonization of the party in Swedish MSM
    – the continuing harassment and violence towards the party members and their meetings by self-styled "anti-fascists" and the fact that "anti-fascists" operate with silent approval of the media and political elite.
    – the reason for the silence of mainstream political parties. They all share the blame of failed immigration policy.
    – the overall shortcomings of the Swedish electoral system.

    and many more.

But overall, it was a reasonably fair report by YLE i.e. better than expected.

  2. Mikael Jungner is a bad fruit that we need to get rid of as soon as possible.
The people must wake up befor the leftis morons makes Finland a mirror image of Sweden.

  3. Vasarahammer, you're much too kind to the journalist. I can imagine both of us looking at what was left on the cutting room floor and coming to a conclusion that she and her editor's were out to malign the SD, especially from the exchange between Voight and the supposed christian immigrant, and what took place in front of the city hall.

It might be balanced as far as YLE goes…but it falls short of what journalist ethics demand.

It's the same mentality at work when Leena Reikko, Sanna Negus, Janne Hopsu and like ilk travel to Israel and file reports on the conflict.

  4. I'm from New Zealand, and I support the Swedish Democrats!
Best wishes to them for the election!

    **GO THE DEMOCRATS!**

  5. Yle bias is to be expected. By their standards the report was reasonable and it was not the worst they are capable of.

In Yle Radio, our old friend Tom "Lost in Europe" Kankkonen called the protestors in SD rallies "anti-fascist and anti-racist activists".

The problem is that the leftist journalist hacks cannot hide their antipathy towards SD and tend to ignore the strong anti-democratic tendencies of SD opponents.
