SHAKEDOWN IN MISSOURI AS POLICE AND FIRE FIGHTERS IN EAST ST.LOUIS GET THE BOOT…….

Folks, this is how the Left wields it’s power. When its bureaucracy is threatened to any degree, they lay off policemen and firefighters in large numbers to shock the citizens into raising their taxes. It’s a ruse pure and simple to protect it’s overblown self, while gutting those people who are needed most.
Take a look at the article, of the 37 employees the East St.Louis bureauracy plans to let go,  29 nine people of that number are police officers and firefighters, with only seven public works employees feeling the pinch. 29 to 7, that’s the game the bureaucracy plays, they’re saying that of the thousands of people who work for them that do not produce a damn thing, they can only find police officers and firefighters to lay off.
It’s a shake down. How many useless drones do you see walking the halls of any government building and the DMV, (Division of Motor Vehicles)? No, the bureaucracy will choose to lay off those who are the most high profile and badly needed in order to send a threatening message to the population, raise taxes to fund the overblown government, or risk violence and burnt down homes and businesses.

It’s a shake down. KGS

Layoffs to gut East St. Louis police force

The Rev. Joseph Tracy said he’s tired of going to funerals. And now, he suspects he’ll be going to more of them.
“It’s open field day now,” said Tracy, the pastor of Straightway Baptist Church here. “The criminals are going to run wild.”
Gang activity. Drug dealing. Cold-blooded killing. Tracy worries that a decision to shrink the police force by almost 30 percent will bring more of everything.

“Parks said the weak economy has robbed the city of badly need money. For example, revenue from the Casino Queen was $900,000 below budget expectations last year. There are no signs of improvement, Parks said.
“I want our citizens to know we have some of the bravest police officers and firefighters in the country,” Parks said. “But we don’t have the money to pay them. We have to have fiscal responsibility.”

More here.

NOTE: That’s rich, a politician and career bureaucrat, talks about fiscal responsibility

  1. As a retired Fire Captain in a large Northeastern US city it was always the police and fire dept, that got laid off of were threatened to be laid off. To make matters worse the political class always found funds for the useless or 'pork' expenses all of the time.

  2. I appreciate your input, it validates my basic premise that the bureaucracy is a master at the art of the "shakedown". They wich butons to push to scare the people into compliance.
