PETA in Jordan no less, who would have thunk? Wearing vegetables in Jordan is haram no doubt, as well as a woman speaking her mind, too bad it was for PETA though. KGS
Jordanian animal rights activist Amina Tarek, right, clothed in lettuce leaves and holding a placard in Arabic reading “Let vegetarianism grow on you,” makes a protest organized by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) to persuade Middle Eastern meat lovers to go vegetarian, in Amman, Jordan Sunday, July 25, 2010.
Crowds quickly gathered to gawk at the lettuce lady, but police were not amused and officers briefly arrested the Jordanian activist and a colleague, before releasing them a few hours later.
