A work by the controversial artist Lars Vilks has suffered an arson attack in Ii, in Finland during the mid-summer, reports the newspaper Kaleva.
Business leader of the arts center Kulttuurikauppila, Leena Vuotovesi, told STT that the artwork did not receive serious damage A couple of planks in the eight-meter high tower “brädkonstruktionen” in Ii, was blackened by the flames. The work will be repaired during the week.
The case has been reported to the police. Vuotovesi says that the artwork will now be monitored with cameras.
Vilks, whose works has attracted large numbers of visitors to Ii, Finland, in Northern Ostrobothnia.
