anti-Semitism Finland Richard Järnefelt

FINLAND: RICHARD JÄRNEFELT’S SPECIAL ANTI-SEMITIC EASTER RANT…….

Ricky J: I really think I’m clever
My anti-Semitism is so intellectual

UPDATE: Al Avai observes: He gives a very good synopsis of both classical anti-Semitism and modern anti-Semitism masquerading as anti-Zionism. Amazing how there can be car bombs and suicide bombs going off left and right, in Muslim countries and by Muslims e.g. in neighboring Russia, and in his willful blindness he imagines that the Jews remain the threat to world peace…..

In Celebration of Easter

4.4.2010 19.50 | Richard Järnefelt

In honor of Easter I thought I would raise a hot potato again, because I have begun to get so irritated by those who are mentally psychotic or those who are blind fanatics spreading their nonsense everywhere (including at the Uusi Suomi [Finnish online paper] opinion columns and blogs) about Israel, “God’s chosen people”, “God’s possession”, who are in everything always so good, so just, and miraculous, which should be allowed everything possible – including the oppression of the Palestinians, their expulsion and killing, when they are in the way on the Israelis’ “promised land”, “the chosen people”.
How the Jews (and gypsies and gays, etc.) in Hitler’s Germany and elsewhere, were very much persecuted for a very long time, it is not defensible. But on the other hand, because of the horrors of the past one should not cover his eyes to Judaism’s own mistakes, and the atrocities Jews have done in the past and in the present. “The chosen people” was the first error, and the “promised land” was another.
[…]
Jewish brutality was exceptional even for that time in the world, and it was motivated by religion, that is, were led to believe that God himself has promised this land to them, and therefore justifies it. Nonsense.
Unfortunately, today’s Israel implements at least in part, and Old Testament mentality, and therefore the need to fuss over the Jews in Western countries should no longer exist. The oppressed has once again become the oppressor, what it was before in past history. The seeds of the Middle East conflict, the threat to world peace are in the Jews themselves, not in the rightly aggrieved Muslims or in a couple of Nazis.
Richard Järnefelt exhibits in his writings classic examples of anti-Semitism, in which “the Jew” is not only the poisoner of wells (this time internationally), “the Jew” is, according to Järnefelt, uniquely to blame for a supposed behavior that is in fact a universally shared phenomenon. We all know that the propensity to commit acts of violence for a number of various reasons, is something that is a common human trait, the human race is a violent species, but for Järnefelt and his fellow travellers, only “the Jew” can be more violent than any other people.
“who has researched anti-Semitism in Sweden for the past 20 years, says that the reports on Israel’s actions in the territories do not create anti-Semitism, but do arouse and intensify latent anti-Semitism. “This is not a new type of anti-Semitism,” says Bachner, “but an anti-Semitism in which the innovation is that it is coming from groups that are not considered here to be anti-Semitic. Regarding these groups, the framework of public discussion of what is happening in the Middle East is the only forum in which you can freely express anti-Jewish opinions, under the cover of criticism of Israel.”
[…]
The new development, in Bachner’s opinion, is the reengagement in the myth of Jewish power, to a much greater extent than in the past. Specifically, there are claims made about the power of the “Jewish lobby,” voiced, for example, in the context of the U.S. decision to go to war against Iraq.
“The most worrisome aspect of the phenomenon,” says Bachner, “has to do with the engagement in anti-Semitism or in the Holocaust. There is now a large group of academics in Sweden who argue that the mere discussion of anti-Semitism is solely intended to serve the political interests of Israel.”
Dr.Manfred Gerstenfeld from the Jerusalem Center of Public Affairs, includes in a report titled “Post-Holocaust and Anti-Semitism, the following from Irwin Cotler, a Canadian Justice Minister:
“Irwin Cotler undertook a more detailed analysis of the multiple aspects of the new anti-Semitism. He claims that people become anti-Semites when calling for the destruction of Israel and the Jews; when denying the Jewish people’s right to self-determination; when they de-legitimize Israel as a state or attribute all the world’s evil to Israel; when Nazifying Israel, denying the Holocaust or singling out Israel for discriminatory treatment in the international arena. Cotler also mentions cultural anti-Semitism as a characteristic of the new anti-Semitism. He defines it by saying that “Israel is attributed a mix of evil qualities by salon intellectuals and western elites.”
These two experts on anti-Semitism describe the anti-Semitic “modus operandi” of Richard Järnefelt to a tee, he has used every anti-Semitic canard named in the above. Järnefelt is using latent anti-Semtism under the guise of intellectual debate about “the supposed crimes” of the Jewish state, as well as going a step further to determine that the Jews stand uniquely as the most violent of peoples in world history.
And please be reminded, this is a Leftist who rejects any label of anti-Semitism, resting his philosemitic credentials upon something he did for Soviet Jews over three decades ago. Well, it’s words and deeds now that matter most, the Tundra Tabloids could care less what a person did ages ago if it’s offset by his/her actions today. So the TT is entirely correct to label Richard Järnefelt as an anti-Semite, to which he now agree:

No ollaan sitten antisemitisti… / well now I’m an anti-Semite then…” . Yep. KGS

  1. Järnefelt writes: “But on the other hand, because of the horrors of the past one should not cover his eyes to Judaism's own mistakes, and the atrocities Jews have done in the past and in the present. "The chosen people" was the first error, and the "promised land" was another”.

How can Judaism make mistakes? In the words of a famous American moralist: “don't judge religions; judge practitioners”.

Järnefelt seems to think that turning the other cheek should be the eternal modus operandi of the Jews. According to Järnefelt’s logic, this should last until there are no Jews left to turn the other cheek.

Järnefelt’s arguments are malicious, albeit unintelligent. Järnefelt wants to remove Judaism the religion from the nation of Jews. He criticizes the Jews for their religion, not for their actions.

I enjoy the honesty of his anti-Semitism, rather than having to dissect it from his rather cretin-like bashing of Israel.

I just wish all the anti-Semites of the left were as honest in their Jew-hatred as Järnefelt.

  2. Well, you can't keep a good Jew-hater down, can you?

Part of his wrath is directed at Christians who support Israel. They have become a fashionable punching bag for the leftists and "intellectuals".

  3. So Järnefelt thinks it's the Jews' own fault that they are the Chosen People? I know Jews who don't want to be "chosen", they just want to be like everybody else and be left alone. That isn't possible, however: When they are in the Diaspora, they are told to "go to Palestine". When they are in Israel, they are told to "get out of Palestine". Since you are using the Bible, would you be kind enough to read the whole Book?

  4. I don't understand why he's mad at you. He should be thankful, instead. Publicity is what any blog-writer is looking for. If he wanted to keep his ideas in his own, I assume he would not publish them. He has, besides, two blogs as he proudly states: a political one and a private one. You are not making any harm to his business which is a matter of his other blog.

  5. Eric Hoffer wrote:

"The Jews are a peculiar people: Things permitted to other nations are forbidden to the Jews.

Other nations drive out thousands, even millions of people, and there is no refugee problem. Russia did it. Poland and Czechoslovakia did it.Turkey threw out a million Greeks and Algeria a million Frenchmen. Indonesia threw out heaven knows how many Chinese–and no one says a word about refugees.

But in the case of Israel, the displaced Arabs have become eternal refugees. Everyone insists that Israel must take back every single Arab. Arnold Toynbee calls the displacement of the Arabs an atrocity greater than any committed by the Nazis. Other nations when victorious on the battlefield dictate peace terms. But when Israel is victorious it must sue for peace.

Everyone expects the Jews to be the only real Christians in this world."

  6. Thanks Dennis. Järnefelt ranks right along with the likes of filth blogger Seppo Lehto. Thing is, since Järnefelt comes from the protected class of Leftist artisans, he's allowed to get away with his gross bigotry and anti-Semitism.

Kumitonttu, I appreciate your sentiments as well, but when one has a business, especially from abroad, the connection of ant-Semitism doesn't bode well for business.

Numbnuts didn't expect his anti-Semitic crap to be leaked outside of Finland, in that he judged wrong, big time.

Vasarahammer, you're spot on. What's happening in Finland lately is part of an international effort to draw traditional Christian support away from Israel. Antti Pentikäinen's efforts are a part of the over all agenda.

These Leftist are highly pissed off over traditional Finnish Christian support for the Jewish state, and thanks to efforts by Munib Younan and like ilk, they have managed to create a whole body of Israel haters.

This needs to be confronted head on and big time. KGS

P.S.Thanks to all of you for posting a comment. Spread this far and wide.

  7. It is interesting, that Järnefelt does not use any evidences or reasoning in his attacks against Jews, but just ranting and slander. If that is not antisemitism pure and simple, then what is?
